DIY Starbucks S’mores Frappuccino
Ahhh S’mores… The perfect treat for summer and it transitions perfectly into fall. I love this flavor combination and how versatile it can be.
When I hear the word s’mores, I always think of a summer evening by the campfire or fire pit, sitting beneath the beautiful stars. It is a total transport back to being a kid and all the summer fun we had every year. Those memories always make me smile, remembering a sweeter, simpler time in life. I guess that is why I just love s’mores so much! In all forms too 🙂
Are you the same way?
I very rarely buy Starbucks drinks, but when I heard of the s’mores version, I had to try. Naturally, I played around at home and came up with a healthier, cheaper version. It is full of flavor and perfect for late summer, early fall!
I shared a little sneak of this on instagram, but here is the full details to make your own at home!
Make Your Own Starbucks S’mores Frappuccino
- 1 1/2 cup coffee
- 1/2 cup milk (I always use unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
- 2 packets of sweetener (I use stevia)
- 1/2 tbsp regular cocoa powder
- 1/2 tbsp dutch-process cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp butter extract
- 1 cup ice
- 1 tbsp marshmallow fluff (optional)
- Graham cracker crumbs (for topping)
Directions:
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Top with whipped cream and graham crackers! I don’t typically use the marshmallow fluff, but it does add a little more creaminess if you do.
You know I love my extracts as a chemist, the combination of vanilla and butter really give it a buttery like s’mores flavor!
Tips: If you like really sweet frappuccinos, definitely add more sweetener or milk!
Variations:
I love using dutched cocoa for a unique, more rich flavor. Read about that in this post. If you don’t have that on hand, you can just use regular cocoa powder throughout. Just know it won’t have as rich of a flavor!!
Butter extract is a fun way to get a rich, buttery flavor, but it is optional! I recommend finding some at the store and trying it out though! Extracts are a fun way to add flavor to your drinks without having to actually add the food to it. This helps with fat, calories, and textures. You can add more vanilla extract if you don’t have the butter extract on hand.
Coffee Options
I really love to use STRONG coffee in these recipes because it will help the coffee flavor come through even with added sweetness. If you don’t like strong coffee, then just add your regular brew 🙂 Another great options is to use cold brew. It makes the best frappuccino! I have a cold brew recipe here.
Tomorrow is September, can you believe that? I am really excited for all the fun fall projects I have going on. I will be sharing some great stuff in the coming months, so don’t miss out 🙂
