It’s Monday! I have another amazing drink recipe for a hot summer day!
Also, this is Strawberry Week on Chemistry Cachet, so I’ve got some more wonderful strawberry inspired posts for you this week. Follow so you won’t miss out on a single one! If you follow me on instagram or twitter, then you’ve seen some sneak peaks of this wonderful new drink!
Strawberries are one of the prettiest and sweetest summer fruits. There is nothing that says summer more than a plump, juicy, sweet strawberry ripe on the vine! This frappuccino encompasses all that wonderful flavor with a cake like twist! I took one sip of this and it reminded me of this old-fashioned strawberry cake a sweet lady I know who has been making it 40+ years! Bonus, this is LOW CALORIE and only requires five ingredients too! So you get your sweet tooth fix in a quick and easy way
Strawberry Cake Frappuccino
♥1 cup strawberries, diced
♥1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of your choice)
♥1 tbsp coffee creamer (I used vanilla flavored, could use any kind!)
♥1 tbsp instant vanilla pudding
♥ Optional : 1/2 tsp butter extract** (this really gives it a great cake flavor, but optional since it is good without 🙂 )
♥Optional : 1 – 2 packets of sweetener (I used stevia, made need 2 packets if strawberries aren’t really sweet!)
♥2 cups of ice
First, heat your diced strawberries up in the microwave for about 1 minute, just until they start breaking down and forming a syrup. This is what makes this frappuccino so good! Next, add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Top with sprinkles and whip cream if you want!
**Chemist Note: I’ve mentioned this before in my previous recipes, but extracts are a great way to add in some flavor without additional ingredients or sacrificing texture (or calories 😉 ). As a chemist, I have a plethora of extracts that I add in recipes. Here are some of my favorite extracts that I always have on hand like when you want to make this drink or my frozen caramel coffee:
♥ Natural Flavor Butterscotch Extract
See those donuts in the picture? Those are coming up later in the week. They involve strawberry and they are healthy, yet delicious! Come back for that recipe on Thursday!

What is your favorite summer fruit? I think strawberries and watermelon are my top favorites, although I love all fruits 🙂 Happy Monday!

Oh yummy. I agree that strawberries are quintessential to summertime.
I’ve recently gotten into extracts, too. I’ve always used vanilla, but now I’m toying around with almond and lemon!
Alexis says
Almond and lemon are awesome, I also love using maple when I make cookies for clients, it makes a huge difference!

At first I thought this would be so bad for me, but I am happy to see it’s actually not that terrible! I am obsessed with anything cake flavored, and it would be so yummy paired with strawberry. Lately I’ve been loving treating myself to a cold drink or snack after work, and this one is perfect! Thanks for sharing it with The Wednesday Showcase.
