Today I am sharing with you the details on this affordable Pilates reformer for home use.
Over the last few months, I have been researching different affordable pilates reformer options for the home because I have really wanted to get one.
There are many different options, some of them are very cheap while others are super expensive.
Here is why I chose this one, and I am very pleased with it! I didn’t plan on doing on a blog post for this, but after sharing an IG story a few weeks ago, I had a lot of interest from readers and questions too. I also have several comment back they have this one and love it too.
If you are in the market for one, this is a really great choice and much more affordable than many other ones.
Affordable Pilates Reformer for Home From Amazon
For reference, I have been doing reformer Pilates several days a week since January 2019. When the Fit Lounge opened in Granbury, I started going and immediately fell in the love.
It was the first exercise I was able to do even with arthritic flares. And I started seeing results only a few months into it.
Over the years, I have had many set backs with fitness during my reformer journey. In March 2020, I had emergency knee surgery for a bucket handle meniscus tear. It took 8 months of PT to get my knee working. Even after that, it was another two years before my knee would work correctly.
I did reformer Pilates all through surgery recovery. Then I was pregnant in February 2022- October 2022, I did reformer Pilates during that time. I took 8 weeks off after a c-section in October, then got back in reformer Pilates after that.
It is truly my favorite exercise and very important to me.
Why I Decided to Get a Pilates Reformer For My Home?
While I love my private studio here in Stephenville, Blue Door Studio, it has been more difficult for me to get to classes. Amelia’s school schedule and Tucker being young, I am able to go about once a week. I decided several months ago, I needed to find an option for my house so I could get back to my three or four days a week reformer workouts even with our crazy schedules.
I Still Go To A Studio!
I still love going to my private studio! Not only is it a great workout, but I love all the people there too. They are so much fun to be with, and you get a great workout with good social interaction.
To get back in shape after having another baby, I really needed to up my game though.
I researched for several months all different types, options, price points, and where to purchase from before choosing this one. My husband was getting annoyed with me because I over-research so much lol.
But it pays off especially when you are making a bigger purchase.
Why I Chose This Reformer:
First, I wanted this to be in our garage gym, so I didn’t have a ton of space for a large one or studio size. This was had good dimensions, and it FOLDS up! If I want to eventually bring it inside somewhere, the folding up option makes it more convenient.
Second, this one was taller than several types I saw on Amazon. Many of them were right on the floor, or just a few inches above. This one allows for you to still do lunges and stretching.
Third, it comes with the rebounder attachment. You can do a great jump workout with this reformer!
Lastly, since you can buy it on Amazon, the shipping is free and it got to my house in one day. I get very hesitant about making large purchases on different websites because of shipping charges and what if you need to return it! This is Amazon prime with free returns as well.
This Reformer VS Studio Reformers
There are a few differences. This one uses bands instead of springs. I don’t mind the difference though, it works fine for home use. It is not as wide as typical studio reformers, so that takes some getting used to! The foot bar is also not as wide as studio reformers. This also wasn’t too big of deal to me because you can easily add more padding if needed.
The biggest difference is the sturdiness. This home reformer is much more light weight than a studio one, so it won’t be as sturdy. If you want to do a lot of standing exercises, this isn’t the best choice. I do basic standing exercises on it, but anything requiring a box, balance standing or something like this wouldn’t be a good idea on this reformer. If you are into this type of Pilates, it would be better to go with a traditional reformer.
For the price, overall this is really a great home addition for Pilates lovers. Even though I am more of an advanced Pilates person, I can still get a really good workout with this reformer. I have loved having it at home to get my workouts in a few days a week, then going to the studio too!
Side Note: Shopping on Amazon
I had a reader tell me recently they do not support or shop on Amazon. I asked them where they shopped for things, but they didn’t reply. I live in a smaller town away from the metroplex, and many times, Amazon is the only place to find things. There have been several times I cannot find diapers for my son in any store around. I buy them on Amazon. If it wasn’t for Amazon, I would have been in some bad situations. In the instance of this reformer, there is no other place to purchase it with free shipping and returns, so it was worth it to me 🙂

Dear Alexis, Thanks so much for doing a post about this reformer. I have been wanting one for years. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment so that the fact that this folds is great.

How do I correct my bladder dropping out? I wear a pessary but have seen 2 women selling cd’s to purchase that say I can correct this on my own. Are they for real? If they weren’t soo expensive I’d be using it now.
I’ve subscribed to your web site since before you had your beautiful children.
My husband has had RA for over 35 years and I pray for you.
I know this is nothing you can can help me with but I don’t want to get my hopes up on these CD’s. You are so honest and a hard worker with your hands full.
Thank you for listening.

My mother has the same issue with her bladder, and she has kept hers from getting worse with exercise. She does yoga and Pilates. She is 67 right now and has had a fallen bladder for about 10 years. I am not sure if she will eventually need surgery, but for now she is doing good. I don’t have any other experience with it though! I am not sure what you are doing now as far as exercise, but it has definitely helped my mom 💕
