bathroom cleaning tools

There are so many options out there, but over the years I have narrowed down the best bathroom cleaning tools that making cleaning easier!

These are simple to have in your bathroom, and will make your cleaning efforts go quicker and easier too.

Most of our homemade and DIY cleaners use these tools!

On Chemistry Cachet, we are all about making things easier for you. Let’s get started…

Bathroom Cleaning Tools That Make Cleaning Much Easier!

There are many options out there for cleaning your home especially in the cleaning tool department.

We are all about the most simple ways to clean, so keeping this small selection of tools in your bathroom will make your life so much easier.

Here are your essential bathroom cleaning supplies:

Be sure to add these tools to your bathroom cleaning kit. For a complete cleaning kit we love on Chemistry Cachet, be sure to read this post from last year.

Squeegee

We love a squeegee on Chemistry Cachet. This little handheld tool will help you clean a few things in the bathroom.

It will help keep your shower door spotless, but also remove hair from your rug very easily!

I keep my squeegee in my shower so I can use it quickly.

Microfiber Cloth

I keep a package of these microfiber cloths in my bathroom ottoman. These are how you will clean everything in your bathroom! It will keep your mirror clean, keep your shower door clean, perfect for cleaning the counters and floors too.

Instead of using regular cleaning towels in your bathroom, get some microfiber.

You can head over to this post to read more about the science behind how they work.

Electric Scrub Brush

Any scrub brush is helpful for bathroom cleaning, but I really enjoy having a handheld electric brush. It makes cleaning easier, and is very helpful for grout. I keep this one in my cleaning caddy, and I will use it about once per week to clean my shower.

It keeps things much cleaner! I also like the different head attachments you can switch out depending on what you are cleaning.

An Old Toothbrush

Toothbrushes are one of the best tools for cleaning! It gets those tiny, hard to reach areas. I also love using this for drains! It can be used around faucets or grout, really any place that is hard to reach or might need extra attention.

Did you know you can also use some toothpaste to clean certain things? Head over to this post on using toothpaste for cleaning!

Good Toilet Brush

Everyone has a toilet brush, but I have been using this one recently. It is so much better at getting inside the rim of the toilet bowl. The handle is also very sturdy, so you can really scrub with it! I started using this one awhile back, and it keeps the toilet much cleaner. We have hard water that will leave black water deposits around the holes, but this toilet brush reaches in there!

The handle is magnetic, so it is easy to store in the holder too.

It is important to have a good toilet brush on hand to make cleaning easier!

The Best Cleaners To Go With These Cleaning Tools

These cleaning tools make cleaning easier, but it is important to use the right cleaners too!

The bathroom is one of the hardest places to keep clean because it is always being used, and the soap scum plus hard water can make things dirty fast.

It is important to use good cleaners in addition to the proper cleaning tools like we have mentioned in this post.

For non-stone surfaces, use this DIY bathroom cleaner

If you have a non-stone surface, like ceramic, plastic, etc, then this DIY bathroom cleaner is the best option. We have so many readers write in saying it has made such a difference for soap scum! It is also great for cleaning toilets. The ingredients specifically work against soap scum!

For stone surfaces like marble, granite, quartz, use our all-purpose cleaner

If you have marble, granite, quartz or another natural stone, you cannot use vinegar! And it is really best not to use anything abrasive, so we always recommend using our all-purpose cleaner on page 13 of the eBook. For those who don’t own the eBook, be sure to use a mild cleaner for stone.

For mold issues, use this simple 2-ingredient mold remover

Sometimes, mold pops up in showers even if you clean it all the time. The warm air and lack of ventilation are very common areas to find mold. You can make this very easy mold remover to get rid of it quickly. Use the electronic scrub brush or even a microfiber cloth.

For shower doors, use our simple method and cleaner

The best thing for shower doors is our easy DIY cleaner combined with a simple technique. If you use this often, your shower door will stay so clean! This is when you will use the squeegee and the microfiber cloth.

For bathroom mirrors, try this incredibly easy tutorial

We just posted this bathroom mirror cleaner post, and I had so many emails from readers saying they tried it and couldn’t believe how well it worked! This method uses one tool, the microfiber cloth. It is such an easy method to use and will keep your mirror clean!

What about cleaning bathroom floors?

I treat the floors in my bathroom like I do surfaces. We have natural stone floors, so a mild non-abrasive is what I use. I use the all-purpose cleaner from page 13. I lightly spray it, then mop over with a microfiber cloth.

Another tool I use is a steam mop which is really helpful for floors. I didn’t add this to the necessary bathroom cleaning tools list above because I don’t think it is a must have. I just think it is a nice luxury to use if you want it!

Good list of items… I think the electric scrub brush helps and saves your joints. I need to check out that toilet brush. My current one is not fitting well for under the rim cleaning – sometimes it sprays cleaner back on me – ugh. I also use a steam mop on the bathroom floors – I used to use the wet swiffer but it left the floor sticky.

That electric scrub brush is definitely great for joints! I really like this toilet brush because it fits well under the rim, so you don’t have to scrub as hard.
