1. Add Shine to Your Hair

Some salons offer gloss treatments to boost your hair’s natural shine, but here’s an all-natural way to do it: simply mash up a banana and mix it up with an egg. Slather that thick paste all over your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then, wash as usual, dry and watch how it catches the light. Now, that’s a healthy look.

2. Nourish Your Nails

Whether your cuticles or nails are less than satisfactory, you can fix it without a pricey manicure. Instead, fill a bowl with olive oil and let your fingers go for a five-minute dip. Afterward, you’ll note that the nails look a whole light shinier and healthier. You can also relieve dry cuticles by slathering them with super-rich coconut oil and wrapping each finger in plastic wrap. That way, the nutrients — and moisture — really sink in to give you cuticles that won’t crack.

3. Whiten Your Smile

An at-home whitening kit can do wonders for your smile, but the strips rely on chemical combinations to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Take control the next time your pearly whites need to get back to, well, being pearly white. All you need is aluminum-free baking soda, food-grade peroxide and peppermint essential oil. The paste you create can be used for a few days in a row and then every so often as a touch-up.

4. De-Puff Your Eyes

Even if you get enough sleep at night, you still might wake up with eyes that say otherwise. Puffy under-eye bags give us the appearance of tiredness or sickness, which is especially unappealing when untrue. You can combat the puff, though, with one product: witch hazel. Witch hazel can  shrink your blood vessels and tighten skin so that it not only looks less puffy, but also less dark. Voila: you look wide awake now.

5. Bronze Your Bod

A healthy summer glow isn’t quite as healthy as it looks — at least, if you are getting it from tanning. Fortunately, you can substitute bronzers for UV rays and get the same sun-kissed look and, on top of that, there are natural ways of getting the color you want. For instance, if you combine cinnamon, cocoa, arrowroot and nutmeg powders, you can easily brush it on you for a natural glow!

6. Wipe It All Off

Finally, no beauty regimen is complete without a way to cleanse your face at the end of the day. When you’re ready to remove your make-up, reach for a homemade solution that will gently wipe away your eyeliner, mascara, blush and more. You just need the right combination of coconut oil and castile soap to do it.

    Great ideas! I’m hesitant to do a food masque on my hair for fear of “cooking it” on my head – or not getting it all out – lol. I’m intrigued about the bronzer “recipe” – would probably be need a mortar/pestle or small grinder to get it to the right consistency… Going to check out Kacey’s blog/site. Happy pre-weekend! (4 day weekend for me!)

      That is the one bad thing about coconut oil…it is so hard to get out of your hair when you do a mask lol!! Have a wonderful 4 day weekend!!!!
