Happy Friday! So, fall in Texas is a strange thing. The weather has been hot, chilly, warm, rainy, dry...all within the course of a few weeks. We even had tornado warnings last week! The foliage is slowly changing, and by Thanksgiving, it will be in full swing. My husband and I went exploring the other day and spotted this amazing gold tree in the middle of a field! How awesome is that? I took about a thousand pictures since I am obsessed with fall leaves. Continue Reading >>
Make Your Own Marble Tray For Less Than $5!
I love anything marble especially marble serving trays! They are so chic and make anything look nice. Of course, anything marble like is fairly expensive at home decor stores, so I decided to make my own! You may have seen this pop up in some pictures over the last few months, like this Belgian cookie coffee! I made it awhile ago just for fun and I loved how it turned out. Then, I realized this would make a perfect gift for Christmas! You can make your own marble tray for less than $5 in very little time, it's a win win! Continue Reading >>
6 Lessons Learned From A Bad Situation Last Thanksgiving
In light of Veterans Day, I wanted to share a story with you... Last Thanksgiving started like any other. The day dawned chilly and clear, with the scent of leaves and dew in the air. We loaded up our stuff early in the morning, and drove to my parent's house for the celebrations. My husband always has to work on the holidays, so we had to get there early so he would have time to make it into work by 11am. It was a beautiful 30 minute drive south and just a perfect day in general. Ruger was still a little puppy then, well he was young I should say. He was a large, clumsy 75 lb 9 month Continue Reading >>
Creamy Cinnamon Pumpkin Steamer
Have you ever had a steamer? It is basically like a latte without the coffee! It is the most perfect drink for cooler months and it makes the perfect late night treat since there is no caffeine to keep you up all night. I make steamers all the time in all flavors because they are just so cozy and comforting, especially at night when I stay up reading a mystery. Since it is November now, it is time to really take advantage of all things pumpkin, cozy and warm. For me, I fully embrace this pumpkin mania until Thanksgiving...then it is all about peppermint, gingerbread and Christmas love. Continue Reading >>
Friday Favorites – real life & pretty things
Hello Friday! This whole time change thing has made this week SOOOOO long in my opinion. I am an early riser no matter what, but setting the clocks back mean I am up around 4am. Makes the day so long! Hopefully I adjust soon ;) This week was full of real life stuff & pretty little things. We've had so much rain lately, all of my flowers are blooming again which I love. I cleaned up the yard and flower beds with my checklist, and it is making everything flourish again. We don't get a freeze until way later, so I hope to enjoy pretty blooms for longer :) Continue Reading >>
