We are excited to share with you this celebrity beauty secret that’s less than $20! These chemical resurfacing pads are the best I have used!

Last year, I read about this product many celebrities use for bright, pretty skin. I read it in some article in an online magazine (I have no idea where it was from). Of course, you see stuff like that online ALL the time and most of it is click bait.

I wrote down the type of product it was, then researched it a little.

It was a chemical resurfacing peel that contained different acids.

After doing a quick Amazon search, I found the product!

Here is what I discovered!

Celebrity Beauty Secret That’s Less Than $20!!

Celebrity beauty secret less than $20

I purchased this product exactly one year ago, and started using it 3x per week.

Although it contains many different acids, it didn’t dry out my skin. Instead, I noticed smaller pores especially on my nose! And my skin overall looked brighter and plumper!

I purchased two jars total and used consecutively through the summer.

When I ran out, I started trying out some new products and stopped using this one for awhile. I noticed after a few weeks, my skin was duller, dryer, and my pores became noticeable again. That is when I was sold! I thought wow…this inexpensive product is something I need to share with my readers ASAP!

The Secret is in the Science!

The reason this simple product works so well is the science behind these ingredients! I have used many chemical pads, but I have never noticed them give results like this one did! In fact, this is one of the only pads I have tried before that didn’t burn my face or make my skin too dry.

How Do Chemical Resurfacing Pads Work

HEADS UP!! Readers sold out this original product. However, their acne treatment pads have similar ingredients, and the manufacturer told me they can be used similar. Those are in stock.

This pad contains these key ingredients: salicylic acid actively and inactive ingredients are lactic acid and glycolic acid.

You have probably heard of salicylic acid when it comes to acne, but it actually has many more benefits than just acne! This ingredient is why these pads are so awesome!

What exactly is salicylic acid?

Salicylic acid is a BHA (Beta-Hydroxy Acid). Hydoxy acids work as chemical exfoliants. According to Healthline, salicylic acid works to penetrate the skin and dissolve dead skin cells which in turn helps with clogged pores that cause whiteheads, blackheads, and acne.

By dissolving dead skin cells, you will also benefit from brighter skin and lightening of dark spots.

Chemical exfoliants are more powerful than physical exfoliants because they work deeper into the skin!

Interestingly, salicylic acid is derived from natural sources like willow tree bark (just like aspirin)!! If you recall from our fun aspirin post, you can actually use aspirin on your face in a similar way.

My results using these chemical pads:

After using these pads (acne pads can be found here which work the same and are in stock!) for just a few weeks I noticed some incredible results.

  • brighter skin
  • less dryness around forehead and nose
  • blackheads on nose gone!
  • chin and cheeks much smoother
  • fading dark spots

I use a few jars of this product, then I ran out and didn’t replace for many months due to trying out many products. Last month, I realized my skin was looking so dull again. I immediately repurchased this jar. Another few weeks of use and my skin was brighter again! That is when I decided to do a post for you. Anything that shows that type of difference on my skin is worth sharing.

Update: Readers LOVE these! I get emails and IG messages about it often.

Do these pads dry out your skin?

Many chemical pads I have used over the years are so strong, they dry out my skin quickly. The reason I love this product so much is it does not dry mine out at all. In fact, it exfoliates my skin just enough so my skin soaks up cream better. These are 2% salicylic acid, so pretty mild. As always, test a small area of your face and check it the next morning to see if you have any reaction.

How to Use Chemical Resurfacing Pads?

Readers always ask what the best order to apply any skincare product, so I wanted to include this portion in our post today.

After cleansing your face well, take one of the pads out of the jar and gently wipe all areas of your face (you can see a quick Instagram reel of this here). Allow this product to dry on your skin before applying serums and creams. DO NOT rinse this off or wipe it off. It is important it dries on your skin for optimum results.

Once your skin is dry again, you can start applying water based serums, then creams, lastly oils. You can get a step by step instruction in this post.

Great post! I ordered the eye cream this time. I put the face serum on my wish list. I’ve been using squalane oil since you did a post on it. Didn’t see it on your Amazon list. Do you still recommend this?

I definitely still use squalane! I buy it directly from The Ordinary since it’s cheaper. They don’t have it on Amazon right now, so that’s why it isn’t on my Amazon list. I always keep squalane on back up when my skin is really dry

Thanks for letting me know. Since I’m in my sixties my skin is no longer oily. It’s dry now.

For those in other countries, try to find a skin pad with the same % of salicylic acid πŸ™‚ There should be a few options to try, and the active ingredient is what makes them work

Lactic acid glycolic acid are also chemical exfoliants, so they’re active ingredients too. They’re alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), used at high strength (30%) by professionals for chemical peels that celebrities use to get that glowy look (though some look like they got first-degree burns to me, not appealing!). Lower-strength AHA products (up to 10%) can be used regularly/daily for anti-aging. The BHA salicylic acid is better against acne.

We have posts on both lactic and glycolic acids. They are great exfoliants! This product contains both, but it’s active ingredient is only the Salicylic acid as far as percentage

What would you/have you recommended for facial psoriasis? In the winter without much sunshine, this problem occurs more often. Would any of your recommendations help this problem ?

I don’t have a lot of experience with facial psoriasis, but the Aveeno Eczema Therapy cream has been amazing for my daughters dermatitis issues, and they also say on there is is good for facial psoriasis. Also, pure aloe vera is very helpful

Yes it is! These are ingredients also found in things like Proactive except in just a pad form. It should be safe for everyone to use, I would have them test a small area of the skin first to make sure no reaction. This is a good practice for any new skincare product
