Today I want to share with you a post you can really benefit from! These are the cheapest skincare products on Amazon that actually WORK!
Readers and friends ask me all the time, how do you keep your skin looking so good? I share products on Instagram stories all the time, but I love sharing them on our website too.
Over the last decade I have researched, tested, examined, and tried so many skincare products. As a chemist, I also care about the ingredients and science behind what I am using.
These products are not only effective, but the science proves why they work so well.
All of these items promote anti-aging, smooth skin, blemish treatment, and more!
The CHEAPEST Skincare Products on Amazon that Actually Work!
Here are my favorite and cheapest Amazon skincare products that work great!
For reference I have combination skin, both dry and oily. I don’t suffer from acne, but have the occasional blemish. My skin is naturally pretty smooth, but I have issues with really dry skin on my eyes and nose. These products work for a WIDE variety of skin types.
Resurfacing Pads ($18.98)
Every time I share this product on Chemistry Cachet, it sells out! It is amazing and affordable. So many people have started using these resurfacing pads since I first shared them, and it continues to be a popular product on our website. You can check out the original blog post here to learn about the science.
Dots For Spots Patches ($14.94)
These patches are so cool! If you wake up with a blemish, you can put one of these little dots on the blemish and it will heal overnight. You can even wear them throughout the day. The patches are very thin and translucent. I recommend keeping these on hand for quick blemish fixes!
Rosehip Seed Oil ($16.99)
Not only does this bottle last a year, but it has multiple uses.
I have done some in-depth research about rosehip oil which you can read about on this post. This treats dry skin, redness, eczema, dark circles, dark pigmentation, and really brightens skin. I use this at night, and lightly apply it around my eyes, nose and mouth area. You don’t need much of this at all. A tiny drop goes a long way! I use this everyday and have had this bottle for over a year.
This is the best brand I have tried, so I recommend it over the others.
Silicone Eye Patches ($20)
These are another viral skincare post we shared years ago. You can buy them on Amazon now! Read our original post on Silicone Eye Patches here.
Tea Tree Oil ($8.61)
This is one of the best products for acne. You can use it alone or pair it in this two ingredient recipe. I love Now Brand oils, but you can also get Plant Therapy Tea Tree oil for $7.99. I use both brands!
I shared this photo on Instagram a few months ago and had questions on skincare, especially how I keep my skin so smooth. Tea tree oil has been amazing for blemish treatments!
Almond Oil ($5.99)
Another basic skincare product to always keep on hand is almond oil. This bottle is small, but also lasts a long time. A little goes a long way! You can mix a few drops of this with any lotion to enhance it’s benefits.
This is another oil we did a chemistry breakdown on which you can read here.
Almond oil is not only get for skin, but all over your body. It can be used to make your own beauty products like this lip scrub too. Almond oil is great at removing makeup and it has a high vitamin E percentage, so it is really nourishing and healing for skin.
Retinol Serum ($13.49)
Retinol is an amazing chemical for anti-aging. Almost every aging product on the market contains retinol because of how effective it is for combating signs up aging. Most retinol products you buy at the store are really expensive, but it doesn’t have to be!
I have been using this little serum at night. This serum is thick and you barely need a few drops to cover your face. I love to use this under night cream or under rosehip oil at night before bed. It is very affordable and has helped with fine lines on my forehead which popped up the minute I turned 30!
Hyaluronic Acid ($13.48)
Another anti-aging skincare option is just hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is amazing at fighting dark pigmentation and dark circles. It helps restore your skins youthful texture. If you struggle with really dry skin, this helps so much too!
I have tried out many brands of HA serum, I prefer this one. And it lasts a LONG time!
Hyaluronic Based Eye Gel ($20.00)
As you can see, I am a big fan of things that help dark circles. I have genetic dark circles that I am constantly working on. If you want a cheaper eye cream, this is a great option! It’s not quiet as good as this one I love, but it is a good Amazon option.
I dab this under my eyes right before bed, and when I wake up my eyes are less puffy and much brighter underneath. The more I use it, the more it helps. This comes in a large container that will last years.
Collagen Eye Pads ($10.40)
Collagen is one of the best chemistry secrets in the skincare world. Not only is it good internally, but it has some great benefits externally. These eye pads are really cheap, last a long time, and actually work for puffiness.
Just pop them under your eyes for 20 minutes. It helps with puffiness, lightens dark circles, and makes skin more firm.
Another eye pad I love (a little more pricey, but worth it), are these gold eye pads!
Aztec Clay Mask ($14.95)
I like to use a nice mask to firm skin and reduce appearance of pores. I have used so many types over the years, but this one is a classic. It works well, it’s cheap, and this jar lasts FOREVER.
Most masks I use irritate my skin or they have numerous unnecessary chemicals added in. This one doesn’t and it helps my skin so much!
Collagen Powder ($12.10)
I’m adding this in there because your skin needs nourishment from the inside too. Collagen is the number one addition to your diet that can improve the health of your skin. As we age, we produce less and less collagen, which is why our skin wrinkles and isn’t as tight.
This powder is the best, most effective I have tried and is so cheap on Amazon. You don’t need to buy expensive collagen.
Make sure you use it correctly though. You need vitamin C for collagen to work.

Very interesting products! Does the retinol serum cause any peeling? Now we need the secret for your beautiful white teeth!
Alexis says
Thanks Linda! It doesn’t cause any peeling, it moisturizers well due to a few other oils it contains. I really love it for fine lines! I will share some oral care info soon too 🙂

I’m a big fan of the “now” product line and have several of their products and oils. I too believe tea tree oil is a great remedy for blemishes. Never tried collagen before but you may have sold me on the power and eye pads. Great round up of products and explanation of their healthy benefits!

I bought the Eye Gel, Retinol Serum, Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Castor Oil that you recommended. I would like to confirm that I am using them correctly:
First: Retinol Serum only at night to entire face and neck
Second: Hyaluronic Acid Serum all over face and neck morning and night, if needed
Third: Eye Gel under eyes at night and morning
Last: Castor Oil at night
Morning: Moisturizer with sunscreen
Alexis says
Hi Hazel! Sounds perfect! The only thing I add or swap out occasionally is after I use the retinol and hyaluronic serum, I will apply a night cream or additional oil like rosehip to my face. I do this if my skin is really dry at the time. Then I will do the eye cream. The castor oil can go on top of everything or under the night cream you decide to use. The castor oil does hydrate really well, so you might not need the night cream/additional oil I mentioned 🙂

Hi Alexis!
I’m a new reader and I really enjoy your post. So amazing! I’m choosing skin care products for myself and I think i was lost in tons of them. I read your post about The Ordinary products and this. I just wonder if i use The Ordinary products you recommended, do i need retinol serum and hyaluronic acid? I’m confused retinoid and retinol too:((. Thank you very much for your sharing and I really appreciate that. Have a nice one:))
Alexis says
Thank you! Retinol is a type of retinoid 🙂 Retinoids are a great item to add to your skincare routine, I like the one in this post and also the ordinary brand i have listed in the other post. Hyaluronic Acid is another great serum for plumping and hydrating skin, you can add use this too. It works great with retinoids or anything else!

Thank you for sharing. Appreciate that ?

You’re welcome!

Thank you so much for these wonderful skincare posts! I absolutely love reading about skincare products that aren’t “fancy” yet work wonders! I currently use a $48 serum that has a million ingredients in it – so I am looking forward to purchasing these items that work just as well with limited ingredients. Since this is quite a list, can you share the best order to apply them? I always cleanse, then add serums before moisturizer…but it seems there’s a couple extras I’m unsure what to do with. THANK YOU GIRL!
Alexis says
You’re welcome! I love getting to share this! It is always best to apply water based serums first, then thicker ones next. Always do your cream or moisturizer last 🙂 Most ingredients will have water as the first item if they are water based. Let me know if you have other questions!
