We are a book family, and have enjoyed reading with Amelia since she was a baby. When I was a child, one of my greatest pleasures was reading seasonal books to celebrate each holiday.

I had so many Christmas themed books in my closet, and the minute Halloween was over, I was getting all of those books out to get ready for Christmas.

Christmas was my favorite holiday, and I treasured every moment of it. I am still like that to this day 🙂

It is even better sharing special memories with Amelia.

Here are our favorite Christmas books for Children over the last few years.

Jesus Calling: The Story of Christmas

This book is great for younger kids about the birth of Jesus, but also has beautiful pictures! Amelia loves this one.

The Night Before Christmas (Little Golden Book)

Obviously, this one is such a classic. The book my dad read to us growing up was also a little golden book! He still has it, and it was his as a little boy. I bought another copy for Amelia to have last year.

A Birthday Party For Jesus

This book is really cute and sweet. My mom found it at a little store a few years ago, and Amelia loves the little creatures in it plus talking about the characteristics of Jesus like faith, hope, and love.

Jingle Bells (Little Golden Book)

Another Golden Book Classic is this one. Amelia loves the little animal characters in this book and her favorite Christmas song is Jingle Bells 🙂

Santa’s Toy Shop (Little Golden Book)

This charming book was published in 1950, and we just love it!

Christmas in a Manger

My friend got this for Amelia last year, and we enjoyed it! Very sweet little story of Jesus and the first Christmas. This is good for babies and toddlers too.

The Christmas ABC (Little Golden Book)

This book is vintage and sweet, and also has great pictures!

Baby’s Christmas (Little Golden Book)

Published in 1959 and it has a cute rhyming story. Amelia loves babies, so she loves this book!

Christmas in the Country (Little Golden Book)

As you can tell, we really love Little Golden Books! This one has the most beautiful, vintage illustrations.

Richard Scarry’s Christmas Mice (Little Golden Book)

Amelia loves the little mouse in this story.

Christmas Is Golden (The World of Little Golden Books)

This sweet book encompasses many of the Little Golden Books Classics into a wonderful Christmas story!

Little Blue Truck’s Christmas

We love little blue truck books, and the Christmas one is so fun! And the last page lights up too.

Little Golden Book’s Christmas Carols

I bought this book a long time ago because it is just so old-fashioned, but has fun songs to sing in it! Amelia loves it now too!

A Christmas Wish For Corduroy

I grew up reading Corduroy books, and found this Christmas one at the store years ago. Amelia loves stories about this little bear 🙂

The Sweet Smell of Christmas (A Scented Storybook)

This is an old storybook, and they have reissued it! Such a fun and sweet Christmas story that is fun for kids because they can scratch and sniff wonderful smells of Christmas!

God Bless Our Christmas

Amelia and I love the God bless you books. We have been reading God Bless and Goodnight since she was a baby. We have the school one too. Amelia asked me to get the Christmas one this year, and it is a wonderful little story!

Christmas Songs: Interactive Children’s Sound Book

This has great Christmas music for kids! We have so much fun listening to each one and singing along with the lyrics. It also has beautiful pictures!
