Some years I go crazy with Christmas decorations! Christmas details around the house from top to bottom! Other years, I keep it just to the main areas of the home, like the living room and kitchen. That is one of those years. Time just went by so fast, I didn’t get out all of my decorations. I didn’t have anything planned over at my house either, so I just wanted sweet Christmas details in our common areas for us to enjoy.
So, here is this year’s Christmas details around the house:
The tree is always the focal point, and I love having a fireplace mantel to decorate now too. This Christmas season was way to warm for a fire, but we usually get to use it a few times in February when we get the brunt of our winter.
You can always find this crazy kid hanging out around the Christmas tree! See more of him on instagram 🙂
I shared some of my Christmas traditions and favorite ornaments on this post, but I wanted to share this one with you too. I made this little pasta angel in 2nd grade! It is so tiny and delicate, and is still one of my favorites. I remember making it and thinking it was so beautiful and shimmery. My mom gave it to me this year, so I am excited to have it on my tree now!
My mantel is all gold and glittery red themed. It is definitely one of my favorite things to decorate. I have been collecting things for years and I realized last year that all of my colors are red and gold, so I have decided that is the official theme 🙂
My husband and I bought those stockings our first Christmas as a married couple in 2007 for a few dollars. I added our names with paint and they have been hanging in our house at Christmas ever since. They definitely don’t go with my theme, but I can’t bear to part with them! Ruger’s stocking is in the middle. He is super excited about getting to open it tonight on Christmas Eve!
It’s no secret I am like Clark Griswold (Christmas Vacation) when it comes to Christmas and my lights. I spent an entire day doing the outside lights since my husband’s work schedule is so crazy. The entire front is full of lights and I am so happy how it turned out. About a week ago, they ALLLLL stopped working. I had to check every bulb and every fuse out of about 20 strands of lights! Finally figured it out, so they work again 🙂
My little white sofa table by the tree also has a red and gold theme. I have all my little wire trees sitting out on this table. I do many photo shoots around this area because it is so festive!
I could show you hundreds more pictures, but I will spare you! These are the heart of the Christmas details around the house and I hope you enjoyed it.
I hope your Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are full of peace, joy and love. Remember Jesus is the reason for the season and that makes it the best time of year! I can’t wait to hear all about your holiday and everything you enjoyed. If you need some last minute gifts to bake or make, check out this post! There is still time to do some great things 🙂
Merry Christmas!
