Christmas tree decorating! Use random ribbons to add texture and glam to a smaller tree on chemistrycachet.com

Happy December everyone! Can you really believe that Thanksgiving has come and gone? We had a great time over Thanksgiving, despite a change of plans. If you missed all the details on Monday, catch up here 🙂

I’ve been doing all the Christmas tree decorating last week and this week. It is finally done! I wanted to share all the details with you today since it is my favorite part of Christmas!

We’ve had this little tree about 5 or 6 years now, but I still love it. It has little pine cones all over which add a real feel to it. Honestly, it is getting a little spindly in the middle after packing and unpacking it for so many years, so I think it only has a few years left.

Ruger was pretty excited about the Christmas tree decorating this year! He was especially pumped about the lights! You can see him with those on instagram if you missed it. He kept posing in front of the year, so I took about 100 pictures of him. Be prepared for lots of bulldog love this month!

This year I did a bunch of different colors and types of ribbons to add some texture into the tree. I love the way it turned out! The tree has a lot more character with the ribbons.

Favorite Ornaments

One of my best friends of 28 years + and I always exchange ornaments. She gave this to me in 2014 and it is still on of my favorites! So adorable! You can read more about our Christmas tradition in this post from last year 🙂

Our first Christmas together as a married couple was in 2007! Can’t believe it’s our 10th Christmas being married, time sure flies by~

This was my first Christmas ornament in 1987. My mom gave it to me last year to start putting on my tree!

You probably saw this sneak peak on snapchat or instagram, but I can’t wait to share this natural peppermint sugar scrub on Tuesday. It has zero food coloring in it! The pink is from cranberries 😮 It’s such a great Christmas gift too!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday! Your tree is very pretty! The ribbon adds some sort of depth/dimension. I saw Ruger on IG – he likes the sparkly lights, huh? What a lovable precocious boy! Your ornament tradition – like a trip down memory lane every year – all sorts of changes, growth over the years. Enjoy the weekend!

Ooh I really like your tree! How fun. My parents just put up our tree last night so it’s mostly decorated now. I love looking back on ornaments from when I was younger.

    Good Afternoon Alexis,
I was visiting Dishing It & Digging It when I saw the photograph of the fabulous Ruger and just had to pop over and say hello….. and I am so pleased I did. Your Christmas tree is beautiful and like you I am a lover of vintage ornaments, especially those handed down by my family members.
    Give a hug to Ruger.
    Best Wishes

I saw your featured picture with Ruger and had to come say hello. He is a charmer. I love you tree full of memories. I am severely allergic to food colouring with an epi pen to prove it, for people like me its really nice to have someone make a sugar scrub that is ALL NATURAL! well done. Thank you

Your tree is gorgeous all decorated and I love that there’s pine cones in there! I put my tree up but the ornaments haven’t made their appearance yet….procrastinating over here! Ruger is too precious by the tree. I’m afraid to put any wrapped gifts under the tree because Lola might have a field day! LOL
