I had no idea how much of a buzz was created about this cookbook, to be honest. I just got it because it looked interesting, and I was curious about trying out some recipes.
Then, I saw it featured on a talk show not too long ago, so I was excited to try it out and let you know what I thought!
Here is my Cookbook Review: Cravings by Chrissy Teigen:
Publisher Summary:
Maybe she’s on a photo shoot in Zanzibar. Maybe she’s making people laugh on TV. But all Chrissy Teigen really wants to do is talk about dinner. Or breakfast. Lunch gets some love, too. For years, she’s been collecting, cooking, and Instagramming her favorite recipes, and here they are: from breakfast all day to John’s famous fried chicken with spicy honey butter to her mom’s Thai classics. Salty, spicy, saucy, and fun as sin (that’s the food, but that’s Chrissy, too), these dishes are for family, for date night at home, for party time, and for a few life-sucks moments (salads). You’ll learn the importance of chili peppers, the secret to cheesy-cheeseless eggs, and life tips like how to use bacon as a home fragrance, the single best way to wake up in the morning, and how not to overthink men or Brussels sprouts. Because for Chrissy Teigen, cooking, eating, life, and love are one and the same. Read more about the cookbook here and the author here.
My take:
The first thing I liked about this cookbook, was the variety of selections it had! If you aren’t much of a cook, or don’t have a large repertoire of recipes, this is a book you would probably enjoy. It had everything from breakfast to soups to supper options!
The cooking in my household is very selective with my husbands health issues, so I did have to make some changes to a few recipes to eliminate dairy, but they were still fun to make.
Our favorites were the Tuscan Brick Chicken and the Margarita Chicken Fajitas! If you buy this book, I highly recommend trying out those first. They are easy to prepare and don’t contain many ingredients, which is a huge plus for me!
When it comes to cookbooks, I have trouble follow the recipes exactly. I don’t know that I have ever followed a cooking recipe exactly in my life! But that is the fun part about it, make it your own. Anyways, if you are interesting in trying out some new recipes, I think you will enjoy it! You can find it below on amazon! (affiliate link)!

Sounds like she has some really tasty recipes! I’m a big fan of Thai food but never attempted to cook it at least not from scratch.

These were all really easy recipes which I appreciated! I always hate getting a cookbook and the ingredient list is a mile long!

Chrissy is my total girl crush! Cheesy cheeseless eggs? I’m intrigued! And I’d be happy if my house always smelled like bacon! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

I admit, I must have been living under a rock, as I didn’t really know who Chrissy was until about 1 year ago, when the “Fablife” show started airing. Then I starting googling about her, John Legend, their fertility issues and subsequent pregnancy. She has such a spirit and vitality about her… I’ve looked at some of the review on Amazon, and this looks interesting, … I may go peruse it in a brick and mortar store before buying.

I wasn’t sure who she was either until I looked her up! I am always out of the loop on current celebrities lol. I think you may like some of the recipes. They are pretty easy to make and change up to your taste 🙂

I really should buy more cookbooks. I try online recipes all the time and about half of the time they’re no good.
Alexis says
Yeah, you never know what you get online sometimes. I always like a cookbook that has recipes that are actually doable for anyone! I hate buying one with a huge ingredient list and a ton of unknown products I could never purchase at a normal store!
