I love doing a currently post each month! It is fun to sit back and see exactly where you are at this month. Christmas was wonderful and we had a simple New Year’s Eve at home with some of these great foods!
Now here is what we are up to Currently in January…
resolving: I shared with you in my winter tea post that I am really getting in to the decluttering this year. I don’t do resolutions, but I love to really focus on something that is bothering me…and clutter is definitely one of those things. I am also embracing the moment, any moment. Just slowing down and trying to enjoy each step of the way 🙂
reading: I finished up all my books last week, so I am just digging through some old cookbooks and researching some stuff for some projects coming soon. I am going to be making an amazon order soon for some new books, any suggestions???
organizing: EVERYTHING! Especially my office right now. It is the first room I decided to tackle. Since I work from home, I really want an inviting space! I just started a pinterest board for it too. Feel free to join along for some inspiration!
I am also working on some blog organization. I am working on some new tabs and pages, just to clean things up a bit. Since I am offering sponsor spots and ads, I need to free up some space!
loving: Once Christmas is over, I don’t want anymore cold weather! I told you about how weird our winter has been, but the last week has been cold, so I have been loving cozy evenings by the fire. It is the only good thing about winter! The cold is rough, but having a fire is nice 🙂
craving: These awesome champagne cupcakes! I made them again with applesauce instead of oil and they were just as good! I will be sharing the recipe in my newsletter coming out in a few days 🙂 Sign up below if you would like to get it!
I am busy working on some new projects for 2016. I am excited to dig into some great stuff and start researching. I will share some behind the scenes info in the newsletter too!
What are you up to in this new year?

Those champ cupcakes look amazing! I believe I could eat one for breakfast right now!! Happy Wednesday! Just popping in from the Currently Link Up!
Oh yes they are awesome for breakfast 🙂 Happy Wednesday!!
I also don’t do resolutions! But I am with you on the decluttering. I’ve been working on that as well. Messes stress me out! A fire sounds so nice. It’s gotten really cold in New York and it’s been a huge adjustment after our unseasonably warm December weather! Those champagne cupcakes look delicious! Too bad I’ve been trying to eat healthier!
You will love these cupcakes then…they are a healthier version of a yummy cupcake! I always make healthy substitutes when baking 🙂 It has been so much chillier here too…not as cold as where you are though 🙂 Have a great day!
That cupcake looks so yummy!
It is so good and not bad for your either, which makes it that much more fun to eat 🙂
I totally agree with decluttering, it’s essential.

Absolutely! It is the best way to start out the new year 🙂
I just took Chemistry last semester and it was so hard! Nice meeting a real chemist, major props to you!
Thanks Iva! Chemistry is super hard, I know so many people who are like how in the world are you a chemist lol. I love it though 🙂 Have a great day!
I’m really getting into the clutter this year, too! I just talked with my husband about it last night at dinner and he is on board. I’m excited to start simplifying our home.
That’s awesome! Me too, I am excited to really minimize this year 🙂 Good Luck!
Can’t wait to check out your Pinterest board! 🙂 So glad you posted this to the link-up.
Thanks Julie! I am so excited to get serious about organizing and decluttering this year 🙂
The cupcake looks yummy and it’s beautifully decorated! Are you a sprinkles person? Decluttering is a (very) long term/ongoing goal. I think my first project will be my earrings (I can do while watching TV!) – sort, repair, attach those plug things, rework the storage box. I LOVE a fire in the fireplace – not always feasible with CA weather. I have a pile of books to go read – I love cozy mysteries!
I love sprinkles! It is a very long term goal…I have definitely gotten better over the years. I love a fire too…we don’t get them often since it is always so hot, but when we do, it is so nice to relax and enjoy 🙂 I love mysteries too! Which are your currently reading?
I love this post. A little bit of inspiration in s lot of areas. I love that applesauce cupcake idea. I have tons of book recommendations. I’ll have to sort them out and tell you later. What genres are you looking for specifically?
I would love some recommendations! I love mysteries, historical fiction, fiction, thrillers, biographies, pretty much all…except romance or love stories, I am not a fan! I can’t wait to hear some suggestions!
Those champagne cupcakes look delicious-you are so creative! 🙂 I love decluttering this time of year too-it feels so good to start off the year that way!
Thanks girl, they are really yummy! It definitely does! I feel like it gets everything off on the right foot 🙂
I am organizing a lot lately, too. I am with you on wanting winter to be over once Christmas is over. Have a great day!

Thanks Sarah! I am so ready for warm weather…already lol Have a great day!
You had me at champagne cupcakes! Yum! Oh, and that hot chocolate looks amazing. It’s been cold here, too!
Thanks for linking up! Happy new year!
They are super delicious (and not bad for you either!) It has been so chilly…but back up to 70 today! Happy New Year!
Champagne cupcakes??? I can’t wait!
You will love them Anne!
Nice food and good company is the way to spend a day.
Absolutely!
I hate winter too! I like it only at Christmastime, then I’m done. Those cupcakes look amazing by the way!!
Thanks for sharing at #homemattersparty!
Thanks Stephanie! Exactly, once Christmas is done, I would just love it to be warm 🙂
Every once in a while I go on a big de-cluttering mission. It really drives me crazy as well
Me too! I am in that phase now, and it makes me feel so much more productive 🙂
Champagne cupcakes? Yes please! And I’m on a decluttering tirade right now too! Time to purge!
Yes! Purging everything right now and I am loving it 🙂 That cupcake recipe is good (and healthy!). It was in my newsletter this weekend, let me know if you would like the recipe 🙂
