It’s May! Which mean the backyard is in full bloom and I get carried away taking pictures everyday! The climbing roses are growing like crazy, which makes the backyard really feel serene. The hibiscus is also growing really large, so it creates this tropical ambiance when you step outside! I love that!
If you can’t go on vacation, it is nice to have a getaway in your own backyard. The past few weeks have been all about the little things in life and just enjoying them as much as possible.
Currently in May….
celebrating:
All the little things in life. It has been stressful month for us, but when all the major things in life are super stressful and not working, you just sit back and enjoy all the little things in life. Those are always there to brighten the day 🙂
reading:
FINALLY finished Elizabeth Taylor’s Biography. I love it! And I have been trying to finish it up for month, but things got so busy I fell behind! Full review coming in the next few weeks for this one and a couple of other old hollywood type books I have read this year!
pondering:
So many things!
sipping:
lots of this cinnamon hazelnut frozen cold brew! It is the perfect pick me up for sure! Also sipping on my favorite lemon green tea (recipe coming soon in newsletter!)
going:
outside because the weather has been so nice! We always take advantage of this time of year before the Texas heat sets in and it gets too hot to enjoy the afternoon!
I think May is one of my favorite months! I look forward to working on some more summer projects to share with you over the next few weeks 🙂
What are you currently up to this month?

April was FILLED with gorgeous weather and it was wonderful, but it’s rained 3 out of the first 4 days of May…I hope that’s not an indication of the whole month, because I have really been enjoying getting outside too.
I am hoping to go to the beach this month, which will be nice since that is also my hometown.
Oh the beach sounds amazing right now!! I would love to go soon. We have had so much flooding these past few weeks (and horrible storms). I am really hoping it is a pleasant month for us too 🙂
Still dreaming about that coffee. I really need to get stuff to make some this weekend! And yay for pretty flowers in your backyard! Always the best! May is one of my favorite months too! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
You definitely need to get some. I am obsessed! May always has the prettiest flowers 🙂
Can’t wait to hear your review on the Elizabeth Taylor book!
I really had fun reading it! I have always liked her, but this book was really neat to learn more!
I’m now curious about the Elizabeth Taylor book. that would be so interesting!
It was really neat to read! I have always loved her and knew about her work, but I never knew all the dirty details of her life!! It is crazy!
I love May, the start of Spring and another step towards summer. That cold brew sounds so good!
I completely agree! The closer to summer…the better!
Happy Wednesday… I’m celebrating all the plant growth around me – except the foot high weeds from my neighbor’s yard – got some new flowers to put in… Love your attitude that while the big stressful stuff happens, there are small blessings all around too, and acknowledging them helps shift your mindset. God is so good! Have a wonderful day! 🙂
He is so good! It really does help shift your mind to more positive thoughts! Which is a blessing!! Have a wonderful afternoon!
Your hibiscus is beautiful! Nice weather really helps to brighten the mood especially if you have a pretty yard to relax in.
Thanks girl! I completely agree !!!
Yay for celebrating the little things! And I’m still drooling over that hazelnut frozen cold brew – YUM <3

The little things are the best things for sure!!!
I bet that bio is really good! I always love learning more about certain celebrities.
I love it too! This one was especially interesting, I will be sharing soon 🙂
Life is full of little things, and often it is the little things that make us smile, or laugh or just wear us down so all we want to do is cry.
That is so true!!! The little things can really make or break a day sometimes 🙂
For us in NC May has been very pleasant and we too have to enjoy the afternoons before the heat. Currently, just finishing up the end of school.
Yay for the end of school! That is always the best!
Ah, your backyard sounds like a dream! I really want to add more plants and flowers to our backyard to give us more privacy and to make sort of an oasis. I hope you enjoy your summer! Thanks so much for linking up!
It definitely adds some privacy and creates the perfect oasis!! Have a wonderful summer Jenna!
