I have to say, June is my favorite month of summer! Some might wonder why it isn’t July with the 4th and my wedding anniversary? Well, I do love that month too for all the fun activities, but June is my favorite month of summer weather wise in Texas. Usually, it is still mild with temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s. Perfect for swimming and going to the lake, but still cool enough to go for walks in the morning or have a picnic.

Some house projects and especially some outdoor projects we want to work on. Specifically our concrete pathway we will be finishing up this month! You can see all those ideas on this post about adding dreamy ambiance to your backyard!
enjoying
All the things I love about summer like popsicles, frozen yogurt, evening walks, the fireflies finally coming out, the drive in movies…so many things! Ruger enjoys the morning sunshine right now. He hates the heat, so mornings are his favorite 🙂
buying
I bought some new indoor/outdoor rugs to add by the backporch. This is the one we added inside for the backdoor, and I love the color concept. I am really trying to bring out the dark red tones in my living room area and this really did the trick!
I also just bought a huge amount of books from amazon. I will be sharing another reading list soon! I just finished up all these old hollywood golden age books and this summer mystery.
craving
Seafood. I always crave it this time of year and wish we could make it to the coast this summer, but we probably won’t have time. Instead, we have been grilling shrimp, salmon, and tilapia with some new recipes I am trying out. I will be sharing one soon in this month’s newsletter!

I could totally eat it everyday too! Ruger definitely isn’t much of an outside boy, so in the heat, he goes out for just a minute to use the bathroom and he is done lol

Can’t believe June is here already! Our anniversary is in June so we often do something fun (Denver covered that last weekend) but we’ll probably have a nice dinner or something. Lola can’t handle the heat either. She gets worn out easily in the Summer.

Happy June! Summer is almost here… June 20… I’m a hot weather wimp. Cute pic of Ruger. I like your red rug – bright and cheery… I’m allergic to shellfish, but the 3 of us love fish. Been eating salmon and rockfish often… Do you have a Half Price Books store near you? It’s great to get used books at great prices… selection is hit and miss, though…
I have shopped online at half price books, but I have never been to one. I am all about cheap books though!! It’s the best way to read as many as possible 🙂
I love June! Probably because it’s my birthday month 🙂 Yes to Popsicles to beat the heat! So yummy! And poor Ruger! My dog isn’t a fan of the heat or the summer showers we get LOL!

I tend to crave seafood A LOT in the summer as well! Last night I made a summer stir fry with yummy shrimp that I picked up from whole foods–so yummy!
