Can you believe it is February?! This month has always been special to me, mainly because my birthday is the 21st!
When I was a kid, this was the ultimate birthday month among all my friends. I had about 10 or more that had birthdays all around mine, so I always looked forward to the endless slumber parties…it was like an entire month of no sleep, junk food, skating, going to fun places! In fact, by the end of the month, I was super exhausted!
Now as an adult, it isn’t as crazy, but it is still the ultimate birthday month. My husband’s is the 26th, my father in law shares my birthday, my mother in law has one of the 15th, and then many of my best friends have them this month too.
So, currently in February…
sending: Birthday packages to friends. My other good friend had one a few days ago and we’ve been exchanging gifts for 27 years, so I hope to get it to her soon 🙂 P.s that is her below on her wedding day 🙂
eating: Healthy Chocolate Fudge Cake…we can’t stop! I made it again this past weekend as heart shaped cupcakes and it was just as good. I shared a little behind the scenes for it on snapchat (username ‘alexisroch’ btw!!) Also, eating popcorn. I made some olive oil + Himalayan Pink Sea Salt this weekend and it was so good! You may have seen the picture on instagram…many asked for the recipe and I will have a full post on that soon! Any one else a total popcorn lover?
dreaming: Spring and warmer weather! I cannot wait to get into the garden outside and bring back all my blooms! And swing on my tree swing again.
smelling: Roses and candles. I love lighting this winter candle in the bathroom. Fresh roses are my favorite!
hearting: Weekends with my husband and Ruger. I wish weekends were as long as the week…and the work week was like two days!
So, how do you feel about it already being February? What are you currently up to? Join me and Ruger on snapchat (alexisroch) we are having fun sharing our day to day!!

Growing up I didn’t know anyone with a winter birthday, except for me! Looks like you were the opposite! Have a great day!!

That is so funny Christina! I had friends with all seasons of birthdays, but winter was by far the most!! 🙂

I wish weekends were longer too….so much fun that flies by and then it’s back to the weekday work routine. I am looking forward to spring as well. While I’m grateful we didn’t get much snow this winter (except Jonas!) I really hate the cold. Happy early birthday! You have a busy birthday month!
Alexis says
Thanks so much Nancy! We haven’t had any snow, but anything below 60 is too cold for me! This week was actually in the 70s for awhile, so I was super excited about that!

Sending birthday packages is so fun! I love sending happy mail to friends, and February is a great month to do that!
Alexis says
It is so fun! It is the perfect month for sending goodies out 🙂

Enjoy your birthday month! Mine was in January and I celebrated all month long! Loved your post! I’m hopping over from the linkup to say HI!
Alexis says
Celebrating all month is the best! Thanks Laura, have a great day!!

I am sure your friends love getting birthday packages! My best friend and I always exchange gifts in person, which becomes very difficult when you live 8 hours away from each other. Sometimes it’s months later when one of us will receive their gift…. Oops. Maybe I’ll try to send her something special this year as well, shipping is just so expensive!
Alexis says
It does get hard sometimes as we get older! I used to live in California and all my closet friends lived in Texas…we would always try to gifts or notes when we had time. And always would do Christmas gifts when I came to visit…even if it was in July lol
Ashley says
Hot chocolate fudge cake!?!?! MMMMMMMMM. Gonna have to try that!!
Alexis says
It’s the best cake! You will love it!! (and it is good for you 🙂 )
Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis says
Seriously the weekends are way too short! Who came up with this schedule?! Those 3-wick candles are the best.
Alexis says
I totally agree!! What were the thinking!

I would love a 4 day work week and a 3 day weekend… My family and friends’ birthdays are spread throughout the year. We are in a sunny spell right now (altho cold), so I’m getting “itchy” to clean up my garden – weeds, dead foliage, overhaul roses… Wondering about Himalayan Pink Salt – I read a small article about it vs regular table salt… what’s your take on it, as you’ve mentioned it several times? I’ve seen HPS blocks used in massages at the spa…
Alexis says
I’m totally filling the itch too! I can’t stand looking at the yard right now! I love Pink Salt and it is so much better for you. I am actually working on a post about that right now, it should be up in a few weeks 🙂
Olya @ The Siberian American says
Your February sounds like our July! Christopher and I were born two days apart, and our anniversary is two days later! I also had a ton of friends’ birthdays in July growing up. Happy early birthday, lady! 🙂
Alexis says
July is another big one! Our anniversary is in July…we chose that month to get married because it was so far away from all of our other events lol. That is neat y’all are so close in birthdays too!!

I’m happy that it’s February because that means it’s one month closer to SPRING!!

Me too girl!!!

That cake looks delicious! I’m definitely going to have to try that out. And birthday crazy month for our family is the end of March + early April. Seems like everyone is getting older then!

Thanks Jenny! It is super delicious & you don’t even know it’s healthy 🙂 Have a great day!
Sarah @ Bows and Clothes says
