In February, I asked readers what they wanted to see on Chemistry Cachet. I had many responses for an easy home cleaning kit to put together to make cleaning more simple!

I was excited to see this request because we have been working on a post for this the last few months!

The truth is, there are so many cleaning products, tips, and ideas, but it can be overwhelming when it comes time to actually clean your house. Cleaning is more successful when it is CONVENIENT! On Chemistry Cachet, we are all about convenience.

So, this easy home cleaning kit we are sharing today is really going to make your life easier!

The best part about this, is you can customize depending on what you prefer to use too. If you love DIY cleaners, then you can easily use that. If you prefer to buy cleaning products, you can do that too!

Be sure to PIN this post for easy reference.

Simple and Easy Home Cleaning Kit to Make Cleaning Convenient!

First, You Need a Container

The first step to your easy home cleaning kit is finding a good container. It needs to be something you can easily transport around the house.

I have a few different ones. A small one like this I keep in my kitchen under the sink, then I have a large one I keep in my master bathroom which I can take around the house depending on what I want to clean. This is actually a made as a diaper caddy ,but it is fantastic for cleaning supplies too! It is very large, so it is great for all of my experimenting on Chemistry Cachet 🙂

Cleaning Tools

Next, you need a variety of cleaning tools. There are hundreds of options when it comes to cleaning tools, but here are a few to keep in your cleaning kit which will make things easy.

  • Microfiber Cloth
  • Sturdy Scrub Brush
  • Sponges
  • Electric Spin Brush
  • Gloves

The electric spin brush is optional, but honestly, one of the most convenient tools to use! Read this post on microfiber, you can clean everything with it!

I also enjoy these scrub clothes. I share them in this post on cleaning a glass stovetop. They scrub well, and then you just pop them in the washing machine. A home cleaning kit needs these simple cleaning tools just as much as the cleaning products.

Cleaning Products

Again, there are hundreds of options for cleaning products, but I am all about making things SIMPLE!

Unless you are cleaning something very specific, like mold, you can stick to a few general cleaners to keep in your home cleaning kit.

All-purpose Cleaner– an all-purpose cleaner is really convenient because it works for everything. I use this one from the eBook on page 13. This cleaner works for mirrors, cabinets, walls, floors, counters, etc. Truly anything in your home can be cleaned with our all-purpose cleaner.

If your curious how it works, my Pilates instructor recently used it to clean the studio blinds. She said (thefitloungegranbury): The cleaner is amazing! It removed years of grime from the studio blinds ? Here is the original instagram post where we talked about it.

Feel free to use your favorite all-purpose cleaner in the kit.

Abrasive Cleaner – It is good to always keep an abrasive in your cleaning kit. You will always find a bottle of Bon Ami or Barkeepers’ in mine. This makes cleaning the kitchen or parts of the bathroom a breeze. You can also keep baking soda for your abrasive (reference our cleaning guide for all the ways to use it).

Dust Spray – You can make your own dust spray like we have in the eBook. Or you can choose your favorite type to keep in there. Dust sprays are great for wood.

Other Cleaning Product Additions

Hydrogen Peroxide and Dawn– Here is where I might be different than others . I like to keep a bottle of peroxide and bottle of Dawn handy. You can easily mix the two together to make a quick scrub, or use them separate. They are just two simple ingredients to have on hand. Reference this post for all the things you can clean with dawn.

Rubbing Alcohol– You can also clean just about everything with rubbing alcohol. I like to keep my lemon infused rubbing alcohol in my cleaning kit, but you can also just keep regular rubbing alcohol too. Here are all the things I clean with rubbing alcohol.

Specifics

This is my all-purpose cleaning kit. It is the one that can go everywhere in the house plus be used on anything! Another tip if you want to have a cleaning kit for specific rooms in the home is to keep a small container in each space with those specific cleaning products (a cleaning caddy under bathroom sink, under kitchen sink, in bedroom closet). You can keep everything the same, but add in your ready to go cleaners (like bathroom specific cleaners for the bathroom, etc)

I prefer to keep an all-purpose kit because it keeps things simple!
