Today we are sharing a luxurious treat with you, Faux Rays Skin creamy body scrub and body butter combo!
First of all, these products have the most amazing texture. The first time I used the body scrub, I was impressed with the creaminess and thickness of it. The body butter is unlike any I have used before. Not only is it thick, but it is firming for your skin.
The best part about these products is the scientific aspect of the ingredients, not to mention, minimal ingredients without added fillers!

Faux Rays Skin Brand
My sweet friend Ray is the creator of these products. I know personally the amount of research and time she put into creating this line of skincare.
In fact, we talked ingredients for months before she launched these products! I was so excited to buy these items from her the minute they went for sale.
As our readers know, I test products for many months before I share them with you. And I only share products I enjoy and see results with. There are dozens of products I try each year that never make it to the blog because I don’t like them or see results.
After trying these items, I reached out to my friend, and I told her I had to do a blog post over these. I thought a question and answer series would be a great way to dive into all of these ingredients for readers.
So, let’s check them out.
The Brown Sugar Body Scrub
Body scrubs are a staple for me, and I always try to have them on hand to use before I use body wash or before shaving my legs. This body scrub is thick! It almost feels like a body cream except it has sugar particles inside for exfoliation.
The key ingredients in the body scrub
Key ingredients in the scrub are brown sugar, mango seed butter, & kaolin white clay.
Why did you choose these particular ingredients?
What are the benefits of these key ingredients for exfoliating?
These ingredients have so many amazing benefits. Brown sugar is a gentle exfoliant. It is more gentle for your skin than salt, and it is also softer than regular granulated sugar. Brown sugar also packs a punch of glycolic acid.
Mango Seed Butter is loaded with vitamins such as A, C, and E. It is high in fatty acids which can help make skin noticeably softer! It can also soothe dry or irritated skin. Since it’s loaded with vitamin C , mango seed butter can also help fight free radicles in your skin.
Kaolin white clay was an easy choice for me to add to this scrub because I wanted something that was natural and would gently cleanse deep into the skin. Kaolin clay works as an astringent to remove excess oils and dirt without completely stripping the skin of natural oils.
Marine Whipped Body Butter
The first time I used this body butter, I was hooked! It is so thick and moisturizing. It also helps your skin look really tight! The ingredients are even more amazing.
The key ingredients for the body butter
The body butter’s key ingredients are shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and marine plankton extract.
How does it firm skin and work to diminish the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks?
Shea butter is able to help with skin appearance due to the amount of nutrients it contains such as the vitamin A and E.
Sunflower seed oil is a great source of vitamin E, and it is a great skin hydrator! It contains high levels of linoleic acid, which is found naturally in our skin’s sebum. It is a fatty acid that can help improve the skin’s barrier function and ability to maintain hydration.
Marine plankton extracts are very nutritious, feeding the skin with loads of vitamins and minerals good for skin function. Its high in fatty acids, antioxidants, and zinc.
How often can you use each product?
Ray said she uses the body scrub once to twice a week(always on Self Care Sunday’s ) and the body butter she uses daily. She loves the lavender in the evenings and coconut lime during the day!
I also wanted to share with readers her unique story. I love how she got into skincare!
What got you started in skincare?
My skincare journey began when I was 15 years old, after an accident where 44% of my body surface was burned. When it comes to being burned many people do not realize how long it takes your skin and body to heal internally. For me, it came out to be the two years following my accident were crucial in taking care of my skin. I spent two years going to plastic surgeons from California to Arizona, getting fitted for new compression garments monthly to ensure enough compression for flattening out rough scars, uncountable amount of hours in occupational & physical therapies, and most of all protecting my skin from the sun!
All of the time spent with plastic surgeons and therapists I learned so many tricks and tips for caring for healing/general skin care. The one thing all of these doctors had in common was they advised to stay protected from the sun!
Fast forward 10 years, I was a new mom recently laid off from my corporate job due to the pandemic & one day I got to thinking about my passions and what I wanted to invest my life into and it came to me that I truly loved skin care, which is what led me to starting Faux Rays Skin.
What are your goals for skincare products?
My goals for skincare products are to create a curated collection of naturally derived products for sun protection and self care purposes!
Most products will be sold as kits to help new routines to be conventionality added to anyone’s daily lifestyle by offering the complete products for each need. Today more than ever there are more external factors that can contribute to premature aging and internal breakdown of collagen, elastic, etc, so Faux Rays Skin is here to fill that gap and provide products to help people age gracefully, naturally!
I also aim to educate a younger generation of people about sun protection and the importance of SPF!
