This was was totally Christmas in Full Swing! I snapped the picture above when we were downtown for dinner. I just love the town I live in. They decorate all of the downtown and park from head to toe with Christmas decorations. The minute you drive through that area, your heart just bursts with joy. I love how they make that a priority each year.
The Candlelight home tour I talked about is also downtown with all the Victorian era homes, and it was amazing this year! I was too caught up in the history to take many pictures on the actual tour, but I did take this one as we were walking around.
Just a quick iPhone picture, but I adore this home! It wasn’t on the tour, but it was on the same block as one of the houses.
Little fact about me, I am a total architecture fanatic. Yes, it seems strange since I am the ultimate chemistry and math nerd, but true story, I planned on majoring in architecture in college and even had all my classes signed up for at Texas Tech. Some family sickness happened, and I quickly applied to the local university to stay near my family. They didn’t have architecture as a degree, so I chose chemistry on a whim…and here I am now lol
My mom and I did our annual sugar cookie baking this week (check out my other Christmas traditions here) and utilized some new methods we learned for our decorating class a few weeks ago! It was so much fun and I must say our decorating techniques have gotten much better over the years. If you love baking chocolate chip cookies, check out my secrets for the perfect cookie here. For sugar cookies, it’s a bit different, but I will be sharing a few of those secrets in my newsletter which will be coming out any day! Sign up below to get some of those tips 🙂
I made a bunch of my chocolate coffee sugar scrub yesterday and I packaged it up to add to all the gifts for my friends along with a bunch of baked goods. I can’t wait to deliver them soon! This stuff smells so heavenly, you could almost eat it! It would be totally safe to eat it, but is slightly salty lol.
By the way, I did some soul searching about my blog’s purpose which I would love for you to read! And I am now offering sponsorship which I am so excited about! I can’t wait to work and connect with some new people and help them reach a new audience!
Lastly, I finally finished up my Christmas cards yesterday! My husband and I are old school and send out traditional cards although sometimes we include a picture inside if we have had some recent ones done like last years was the one below. This year things just got way to busy to schedule anything, so I bought some beautiful cards and just wrote some sweet things to everyone.
I am hoping next year we can do a fun photo shoot again, this time with the bulldog 😉 I love some of these unique photo shoot ideas from Tiny Prints! These are my favorite ideas:
I’m thinking all of us wrapped in Christmas lights just may be on the books for next year! Do you do Christmas photos or traditional cards?
This weekend I look forward to relaxing, Christmas shopping and playing catch up!
Have a great weekend!

Fun post! My husband and I sent out our first Christmas cards this year 🙂 We just got married in September. We just finished our wedding thank you notes (tired hands!), so we decided just to send cards to our family members and best man/maid of honor. It was so fun! We decided just to do Shutterfly cards this year with a few of our wedding photos. I just shared the photos on my blog- love how they turns out! … thanks for sharing cute ideas for the future!
