Christmas in Texas 1

I can’t believe that today is 2016, talk about a fast year! Christmas was wonderful and went by entirely too fast, don’t you think. Since last week was Christmas Day, it has been awhile since I have done a Friday Favorite’s, so this is the Christmas and New Year’s Edition 🙂

Winter in Texas is just crazy! Christmas day it was really warm, around 80. The next day was even more warm and we had numerous tornado warnings and one that hit Dallas pretty hard. The next day it rained so much, everything was flooded. Monday we woke up to 30 degree weather and snow?! It never ceases to amaze me lol!

Christmas I made my dairy-free pumpkin pie, balsalmic honey roasted brussels sprouts (newsletter recipe), and frosted cranberries. I pretty much make that every holiday!

Christmas in Texas 3

My husband and I thought it would be fun to get my brother a gag gift along with his other gift. This turned out to be the funniest thing. We all took turns trying out the different flavors. I got a stinky sock and rotten egg one which were disgusting! My brother got a skunk flavor and just about threw up. I highly recommend getting these for a party or game night, they are hilarious! You can Find them here.

Christmas in Texas 2

Christmas was full of so much baking and gift giving! That is my absolute favorite part. I perfected my gluten-free cookies for so many people who needed them and I will be sharing my research and tips this month! I have so many great projects coming up this year, I cannot wait to share. This months newsletter will have a leftover Champagne Cupcake recipe, so sign up below if you haven’t already. It is one of my favorite recipes for January!

Christmas in Texas 7

New Year’s Eve is pretty low key around here and we just made some of this great food I mentioned in this post and hung out! My husband has long hours so a low key night was just what we needed. I also had a post yesterday and the super crazy weird things that happened in 2015. It is amazing what all can happen in one year! I also shared the most popular posts of 2015 the other day, so if you are a new reader, you can check those. There are some great recipes and ideas included! Farewell 2015!

I made your cranberries. So pretty. Had great raves over them. Question: In regard to RA, do you notice if you lay off the sugar and sweets your joints improve? I’m have such a sweet tooth and thinking of trying to eliminate it from my diet for awhile and see if I have any significant improvement. Thought I’d ask to see if you tried too. Of course, I’m afraid of what my moods will be like if I do. I love my sugar. Making the Brussels sprouts recipe this coming week. Yeah.

That is great! I love that you got to make it. I am not much of a sugar eater, I typically use stevia for myself. To be honest, diet does play a small part with arthritic pain, but not as much as people think. I have done all the crazy fads, taken things completely out of my diet, and so on. If you have sugar in moderation, it will not make things worse or make joint pain more intense. The thing I have noticed most over the last 20 years is limiting fried foods or packaged foods mainly because they make me feel terrible in general only making my body feel worse! I hope you enjoy the Brussels recipe!!!! Let me know how it is 🙂 Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Alexis! Great picture of you and Ruger. Our New Year Eve was quiet except for the approx 15 minutes of fireworks (illegal). Then back to sleep. Watching the Rose Parade; hubby used to help decorate the floats years ago as a teenager. Lots of glue and flowers and seeds in cold barns. Have a great weekend!

Happy New Year Laurie! We had quit the…boring New Year’s Eve lol. My poor hubby was beat from training so he fell asleep at 7pm. Me and the bulldog stayed up until a whopping 10pm, then went to sleep. We had a lot of fireworks going off all around our house too. We live out in the country, so it always happens during a holiday! Ruger hated it lol. Have a fantastic Saturday!

All that food looks so good! Makes me hungry now. That bean boozled sounds funny and awful all the time. Not sure I would be game, but maybe would make my guests play 😉 Thanks for sharing!
