Happy Friday everyone! More importantly, happy first Friday of December! The week after a holiday always seems to be long, does it to you? I think there was just so much to do and get caught up on, but we made it to the weekend!
Since the weekend after Thanksgiving was so rainy, we didn’t get to put the Christmas lights up like usual. My husband’s work schedule is pretty tight, so he leaves at dark and comes home at dark. Needless to say, he wasn’t going to have time to put the lights up, so I did it all by myself on Monday. I am pretty impressed with it too 🙂 It was a little bit Clark Griswold style, but I only got a few scraps from the rose bush which is pretty good for me 😉 I mentioned in my hot chocolate hazelnut post earlier this week that I am a little fanatical about the Christmas tree and the Christmas lights outside, as well as Christmas traditions. They mean so much to me, so my family always jokes I do everything Clark Griswold style 😉
I will show some more pictures soon, but I snapped the picture above Wednesday morning when I went out front. It was really foggy as the sun was rising, this picture just doesn’t do it justice. It was enchanting!
All of my friends and customers have been asking me to share some of my baking secrets for a long time. I decided to finally do that yesterday with my secrets to the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Definitely check that out if you love to bake! I whipped up another batch of chocolate chunk this week. The smell is reason enough to bake for sure! So heavenly!
Y’all know my obsession with spray paint…I worked on a few different Christmas DIY this week using spray paint. Most of my Christmas decorating involves red and gold, so I picked up this colors. They are so pretty!
I didn’t put this in last weeks favorite list since it was thanksgiving weekend, but my mom and I took a chalk painting class last week. I did a post over all the fun learning experiences I have been doing like a cookie decorating class, and this one was just as fun! I can’t wait to do some projects soon!
Every single time I put him outside, he looks through the back door like this…he hates being outside alone lol #rugerthebulldog
I am so excited for this weekend we are going to finish the lights (Clark Griswold style of course) and go on a candle lit home tour tonight in all the Victorian homes in our town! We went last year and it was wonderful!
Have a great weekend!

I found this great meme once where there was a dog that was outside looking inside and it said “Let me in so I can whine to go outside again!” And that rings so true to Starla. She loves it when she can come in and out but when I close the door she just whines.
Alexis says
I saw that meme too and that is SOO true lol. Ruger does that often and I’m like really buddy??

Always love the bull dog pics! Mine is currently snoring (loudly) on the couch. Those cookies look delish! I may have to try them out!

Happy Friday Alexis… I have to admit, I had to look up “Clark Griswold” – don’t laugh too hard or hurt yourself… You did great with the lights, and I’m sure your decorations will look/look fabulous. It’s the spirit it which you did it – your love for Christmas! The Victoria house tour sounds like fun. We have a plaque that details the agenda for the day: let the dog out, let the in, let the dog out, let the dog in. Ann has a dog door, but if I’m with her, there are some days that she insists on using the people door (aka I have to open the door for her). Have a wonderful weekend!
Alexis says
Lol, I totally understand. My friend reads my blog and said Alexis, who is Clark Griswold…I said have you never seen Christmas Vacation? Or Vacation? She said no and now I am making her watch with me soon 🙂 The Candlelight home tour was so much fun. Have a great weekend!
