sneakpeak chemistrycachetIt is starting to really feel like summer life is in full swing now especially the temperatures! We are starting to experience that Texas heat too, but I am just happy the rain has died down for now!

A few of these I posted on instagram, are we instagram friends yet? If not, we should be! 🙂  Here are my favorite pictures from the week:

1. I’ve been working on a fun 4th of July drink for Monday. I had to make it a few times because it was so refreshing! Definitely full of great blueberry flavor. Come back for that Monday! Don’t forget every week I post a fun drink recipe for you 🙂

Walk at the park2. Now that it is summer, we go to the park in the mornings while it is still cool. Ruger can last about 10 minutes on a walk, so we usually talk him to the dog park to play fetch, then on a cool down walk.  After that, he is out for the rest of they day! 🙂

Texas Summer Sunset3. Summer sunsets are the most beautiful! After we took a walk yesterday evening, I snapped this with my phone before it faded!

Roses from chemistrycachet4. I was in the front yard yesterday morning, and I couldn’t believe how many blooms were on this rose bush again! It has quadrupled in size this year. I trimmed these off and brought them inside because they were so pretty. I have a post about trimming roses here and I posted another one this week about I keep them fresh for weeks once they are cut. Trimming them like that keeps them looking like this all summer 🙂

Cookies Chemistrycachet.com5. I baked dozens and dozens of cookies this week for customers. The house smelled great though! These are the double chocolate chip!

We are busy working on our ongoing backyard project this weekend and planning for a little vacation the week after. I will tell you all about that next week 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I’d love to hear all about it, connect with me below 🙂

I love blueberries and always love your drinks! Can’t wait to see what you’ve created. Also, I’m in Love with Roger (we want to get an English bulldog someday)

I think you will love this drink if you love Blueberries 🙂 We searched for a bulldog for 7 years & finally found him, he is crazy, but so wonderful too! They are worth the wait 🙂

I baked dozens and dozens of cookies this week too! They look delicious!

Our dogs can only last a few minutes outside right now, too. And just yesterday there was a patient here that had burned the pads on his feet. Poor guy. 🙁

Good ol’ Texas heat! Poor puppy with burned pads, that is the worst! Ruger is good for a few minutes, but he will beat the door down to come back inside!

Oh yum, those cookies look delish! It’s been awhile since I’ve baked some good ole’ chocolate chip cookies. Might need to do that soon. Your rose bush is beautiful! Every time we get blooms going on our flowers I never think to trim them and bring them in. I think I’m afraid of then having the bush outside look so empty. Next time!

Thank you! Most people think the same thing about trimming them, but it will actually make them bloom more through the season 🙂 Have a great day!

Happy Friday, and Happy Weekend Alexis! I love blueberries – can eat them all the time. I can’t have alcoholic drinks (methotrexate) – so maybe I can “virgin” them. Your roses are beautiful – I need to read your post on care, trimming – we grow ours tall as a defense barrier for our large front window.

In the midst of a heatwave in the SF Bay Area (80s-90s, which is probably cool to you Texans), but it cools down in a few days because we are near the Bay. My 11 year old Golden Retriever likes the bit of breeze but really can’t be in the sun too long. We have a two story house so she gets some exercise that way. Smart dog – lay low and rest.

    Have a fabulous weekend.

No worries, I can’t have alcohol either! I take methotrexate injections for RA. All my drinks are just fun and healthy so you will love it! Oh man, I would love to have that great temp to enjoy 🙂 Dogs always know the way to beat the heat! Have a great weekend!

Nothing like the smell of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! And your trimming roses comment made me remember that I need to do that! I got out of the habit, but you’re right! It makes such a big difference. Glad to hear the rain is dying down a bit in your area. Hope you’re having a great weekend!
