The weeks seem to fly by faster as the summer moves on!

It has been a great week and we even enjoyed some more rain here in Texas.

Here are my five favorites from the week.

Lakeside chemistrycachet.com

1. A new restaurant opened up in town on the lake, so we had dinner there one evening. After all the rain we’ve had the past few months, the lake was actually full for the first time in years! We ate on the dock at it was a beautiful view~

Fireworks2015 12. The fireworks this year were awesome! My parents have a get together every year since their land overlooks the area where the fireworks go off. Best seat in town! It was also really pleasant weather, so it made the 4th even more enjoyable.

Oneyearlater3. Here’s a little 4th of July before and after for you…You may have seen this on twitter, but I had to compare our annual 4th of July picture…Ruger has grown (as you can very well see 🙂 ). He was still a baby last year and  could carry him. I can barely lift his paw anymore since he is so huge!

Hibiscus and how to grow on chemistrycachet.com4. The backyard is looking very tropical with all the hibiscus blooms. I posted some updates on Tuesday about growing tips and how to pot them properly. It is amazing how well they can do with proper care. Even when I lived in an apartment, I had at least three of these on the patio 🙂

Texas 4th of July on chemistrycachet.com5. My favorite thing to do when I visit my parents is sit on the back porch and enjoy this view! This is where we spent the 4th 🙂

How was your week? Do you feel like summer is going by too fast?

Come back Monday for a new drink recipe, here’s last Monday’s roundup of favorites.  🙂

I love that view. Nothing brings me peace then sitting out and just staring at a beautiful piece of land. My dad’s was always like that too. Right now, we are looking at brown grass due to lack of rain here. AND, temps in the high 90’s so we are sweating. Enjoy these beautiful times.

I agree, staring out into beautiful nature is so peaceful! Are temperatures have been in the 90s which is cool this time of year for us 🙂 Normally, we are facing some bad drought by July, but we just keep getting rain. We are very grateful, although we continue to have to mow a few times a week! Have a wonderful weekend Michelle!

I love the comparison picture and seeing how much your doggy has grown in the past year! I want to take a similar picture for our heeler’s 4th birthday this month. I have a picture of me holding him when he was a puppy that I want to recreate.

I love doing pictures the exact same way over a few years…it is so neat to how we change each year! I bet that will look so cute with your baby boy 🙂

Happy Weekend Alexis, “Mr Alexis”, and Ruger! Great pictures! So that’s what a full lake looks like – LOL – it’s magnificent. Nothing like that here in CA. Love the picture from your parents’ back porch. Love the family pictures with Ruger – oh my he’s a big boy. And you’re very pretty.

    Have a great weekend!
