I know my fellow Texans can all agree that this past week was beautiful because we finally had sunshine! We have been so grateful this week and have taken full advantage by starting on our summer plans! Did you read our summer to do list?
We’ve already got a head start on some backyard work and we got Ruger set up with his baby pool 🙂 Do you follow me on instagram? Here’s five snapshots from our week:
1. We bought our first watermelon of the year! And it was amazing! It is by far Ruger’s favorite food 🙂 He even prefers it over bacon!
2. Now that we are having summer weather, we save our walks for the evening. The moon the other night was absolutely beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. It was very enchanting especially with all the fireflies around!
3. I am a fanatic over fireflies! Ever since I was a little girl. My husband and I still love watching and catching them in the summer 🙂
4. Are you a strawberry fan? I love all things strawberry. Next week I am featuring some strawberry recipes that I am working on! I am so excited to share them with you! Come back so you don’t miss out! Remember every Monday I post an easy and delicious new drink recipe too! So this one is full of strawberry flavor. I’ve also got a breakfast recipe and a sweet treat for you, all with the wonderful addition of strawberry 🙂
5. My garden is so vibrant and lush after all this rain especially all my potted plants. I’ve got about 10 geraniums all over the patio in pots, but my favorite is this coral one. Did you get my tips on easy potted geranium care? They are the perfect summer flower for the back yard! Follow my instagram for more garden pictures!

Hi candice! I used to live in so cal, and never saw them either! I’m so glad we have them here 🙂
This is such a summery post! I love it! We’re on our third watermelon here at my house- can’t get enough. I miss it during the winter months. I love watching fireflies too. There’s a large farmers field at the rear of my home, and during the summer nights it’s like watching a fireworks show- gorgeous!!
