Happy Friday! It was such a beautiful rainy week here in Texas. In fact, we had a few days that were only in the 80s which is incredibly unusual for this time of year (aka never happens). It got me SO excited for the beautiful fall weather that should be coming in the next few months.
My husband and I enjoyed the cooler weather and took many walks, did some swinging on the porch swing, and got some projects done. It is amazing how great you feel when it isn’t 105 degrees lol
We are also reading the new Harry Potter book as I shared on instagram a few days ago. I will share a review soon!
Since it was cooler and cloudy all week, I opened up all my shades for the first time this summer. I keep them closed when it is really hot to keep the house cool. I just love these bay windows in the kitchen. It was so nice to have them open! This is where I set up my baking stations and we have breakfast here too.
Remember this coffee table we built? My husband had a few people asking if they could purchase one. So, this weekend we finished up another coffee table and went with a darker stain. I thought it turned out beautiful!
I have some really fun coffee posts coming up soon! I have one for Monday sharing all my favorite iced coffee recipes (there is going to be a lot of them!). I have also been working on a new cold brew method and recipe that will be up in a few weeks! I felt inspired to finish up new projects this week!
Did you see this post about my DIY carpet cleaner? Right after I cleaned the carpet using my cleaner, Ruger brought a bone inside he found on the muddy yard and chewed on it before I realized what he was doing….so I had to use it again to clean up everything. He is such a messy guy, but he’s so cute too 😉
And don’t forget to check out this post for my frozen chai tea! It has been one of my favorite drinks to enjoy lately and gets me in the mood for fall!
What are your plans for the weekend?

Hi Alisia! We used dark walnut by Minwax. I love how it turned out! Our other coffee table we used antique walnut which is a tad lighter! Yay, I’m so happy you came by today! I look forward to checking out your blog now. Have a wonderful weekend!

It rained a bunch yesterday so it hasn’t been as sweltering over here today, which I definitely appreciate! 😛 I got to go on a walk around town with my friend! :]
That coffee table is gorgeous!
Curious about your thoughts on the new HP book! I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but I hope to at some point!

I have really enjoyed being able to actually get outside and walk! Makes me really excited for fall 🙂 We are really loving the new Harry Potter! My husband and I are reading it together, so we don’t get to read it until he’s off, so hopefully we can finish it up soon! I will definitely do a review 🙂

So I feel like I may have just stumbled on to my twin! (minus the chemist thing- I’m all numbers!) I have a review of the new Harry Potter book going up tomorrow- what did you think!? I flip flopped- up until the last act I hated it, then it was like I finally resigned myself to accepting it. Then, I noticed the coffee table you / your husband built. I used the same plans to build our old coffee table! Last, the puppy legs! I miss my pups being small enough to lay like that. One still kicks her legs out behind her when she sleeps, though! – Dorrie @ Rt 1 US 1

That is so awesome!! Well, we are still reading the book. My husband doesn’t have much time off so we have been squeezing in some reading here and there when he can. So far, we are really loving it. We have loved the coffee table and my husband has built it for a few people now too! We changed it up a bit, but it really is a great table ! 🙂 Well, my baby boy is a huge 87 lbs bulldog…but he still lays like this. I don’t know how, but he can get into the weirdest positions lol. So happy you came by!! Have a great week!
