I have to admit, I am a total wimp when it comes to weather, and it’s been too cold! Cold = stiff joints and pain, so all I really want to do is curl up in a little ball in a heating blanket all day! I think I am probably the least productive in the winter versus any other season or time of year. Are you the same?
It makes me want to really move back to California!
Anyways, I am glad it’s Friday!
I met a friend at a little coffee shop and had some awesome cappuccinos! It was a really cold, cloudy day, so it was the perfect thing to do. I just love the vibe of little coffee shops, don’t you?
Although I hate the cold, I have really been enjoying lazy afternoons by the fire, reading and drinking tea. I had this stuff on my best winter tea list, but I am still loving it. Peppermint is so soothing and it has a hint of cocoa. I just really love it! I also love making this energy boosting tea when I need to get up and so stuff.
Favorite Articles: I loved this article The Pioneer Woman making this energy boosting tea…it was almost the exact same as my 6 reasons I love the mornings post last spring! I also stumbled upon this article for 30 tutorials that will make you a better photographer and editor!
Favorite Recipe: I pinned this recipe for Vegan Chocolates this week and I thought it looked amazing. I can’t wait to try!
Favorite post: My favorite from this week was my post about The Journey to Becoming the Best Blogger I can be. If you haven’t read it yet, I would love for you to pop over and check it out. I was so grateful for everyone’s support and encouragement! Thank you! I also have a survey going on and would love for you to check that out too! P. S- A few people asked…the picture above was my friend and I in downtown Fort Worth 🙂
I also enjoyed sharing my favorite winter books on Wednesday!
So, what are your plans for the weekend? I’d like to say ours will be productive, but I have a feeling it will involve a fire, blankets, and relaxing 😉
Happy Friday!

Tea when it’s cold out is the best! I’ve been making tea to take with me on the train every morning an I swear it’s saving me from freezing! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

Sitting by the fire with a huge mug of tea is one of my favourite thing to do after work. And I’ve been doing just that daily since its been so cold around here lately!

It’s the perfect thing to do on a cold winter day!!!

Ohhhh I hate winter so badly. This morning I woke up to inches of snow on the ground and more falling from the sky. Sickens me and makes me feel so useless! I enjoyed your posts this week. I am hoping to reread and comment during this snow storm! xoxox Amanda

That is the only good thing about the cold, an excuse to be lazy lol!! Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday Alexis… Come on over to California! Been having mornings in the 40s with days in the high 50s. My RA joints are a bit stiffer during the cold mornings, but once I get moving I’m doing okay (the heating blanket sounds divine). Overall, I’ll take cold over heat… anything over 75 degrees is uncomfortable. Often my eczema flares up – I look like a red marker took over my skin. Weekend activities include family birthday dinner, general housekeeping and a pawdicure (mani/pedi) for the dog. Happy weekend! Woof to Ruger!
Alexis says
Happy Friday! I love 70 degree weather also. We get that a few days in Texas sadly..it is usually hot most of the year, but it can be cold too. The cold really gets to my RA. Sounds like a great and fun weekend, I hope you enjoy it!
B @ Sequin Notebook says
At least this cold weather is a good excuse for warm teas, cappuccinos, etc…and that’s about it! I’ll be drinking plenty of hot chocolate this weekend since the snow is going to be ridiculous. Hope you have a great weekend!
Alexis says
Absolutely! I can’t believe all the snow yall will be getting…stay warm!!!
Olya @ The Siberian American says
It’s been so cold here (5 degrees with a -25 wind chill) that now that it is in the 30s, it feels so balmy! Haha. I love staying inside and drinking as much tea as possible when it’s cold out.
Alexis says
OH MY GOSH, that is so cold. I think I would freeze up! Stay warm this weekend!!!

You had me at vegan chocolates! However, I wish there was a substitute for the coconut oil. I know it’s a “good fat”, but it’s so high in saturated fat. I pull with it, though.
Alexis says
I used to be terrified of eating coconut oil. I don’t use it often, but it works so well in baked goods! I studied it in biochemistry and was surprised to see how the body works with it compared to other saturated fats. I’m not as scared of it now lol. You can also use olive oils or grapeseed oil in place of it in most baked goods.

I hate the cold too…..and especially all the snow we’re getting! Today has been a reading and staying warm and comfy kind of day! I’m not a big peppermint tea fan, but at night I’ve been enjoying decaf chai tea. Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Alexis says
That crazy all the snow everyone is getting up north! I can’t even imagine! Chai tea is amazing too…it is one of those teas that is always comforting! Have a great Sunday!
