French Press Coffee on a Summer Day...Happy June Y'all!

Happy June Y’all! Is it truly already this time of year??

Where does the time go? You probably saw on instagram my french press coffee love last week, but I have really been using it a lot. It is a really great summer option too because you can make cold brew in it. Denny’s is some of my favorite coffee so I have been using that! Oh, and there is a recipe on Monday involving french press and it is perfect for summer 🙂

Read my french press tips here 🙂

Happy June Y'all! View from the window as the thunderstorm rolls in on chemistrycachet.com

I looked out the window Monday night and saw this massive thunderstorm rolling in, and it really looked like that! You may have seen some of Texas on the news, but we have had so much rain and MASSIVE flooding this week. In fact, my town was on the news because the flooding was pretty much covering the entire town, so they had to shut down the streets. That field in the view above looks like a lake now!

Flooding in Granbury

I feel like I always am talking to y’all about the weather, but Texas has the most extreme weather, so I just have to share it. A few months ago it was about the tornado, last year I was sharing all about the incredible hail storms we kept having…crazy!! This is on the highway a little ways down from my house on Tuesday. So many strange things happen in the floods. I saw a video of a guy riding his canoe through the city park golf course! And you may have seen on my snapchat (alexisroch) the river I had in my backyard! I felt like I was on an island!

Happy June Y'all!

On a lighter note, the pineapple is amazing right now! I buy one pretty much every week. I have been working on some awesome research about pineapple benefits that should be ready to go on Tuesday! It is kind of like this in depth look at lemon I did a few weeks ago.

Happy June Y'all! It's grilling season! on chemistrycachet.com

We had a break in the rain on Memorial Day, so we cooked out steaks, chicken, and veggies. I have a really fun recipe to share in my upcoming newsletter next week that is perfect for the grill! I tested it out again this past weekend, and it was so good! It is especially perfect for fish and chicken. I am soooo happy it’s grilling season!

What are your plans for the weekend? We are hoping to get some sun and a break from the flooding!!

We need to use our french press more! I feel like we go through phases where it’s all we use and then it sits in the pantry for months!

I thought so too! So beautiful! It brought a ton of rain with it too. 2 1/4 inches in 30 minutes…then at least 6 more inches! Crazy!

Happy first June Friday, Alexis! How are you doing with all the rain – hope it will subside soon and you can dry out. Please be careful if you have to get out and about. I’d love a few inches in CA now… Yum, pineapple… can’t wait to see what you’ve researched and created with it… Staying close to home this weekend… having a hot weather spike… thinking of making a cold/room temp pasta or quinoa salad. Maybe get the grill going too… it’s been a while. Enjoy, stay safe!

Thanks Laurie!! Grilling is the best when it starts getting hot! Anything to not have to put the oven on 🙂 Have a great rest of the weekend!

I have been wondering if your part of Texas was getting rain & now I see that you are getting plenty. I hope it decides to stop raining soon! Stay safe. I will look forward to the information you will be sharing about pineapples. I am using lemons everyday in my water & can see the benefits from it. I really appreciated the lemon post. If I would want to go back & look at that sometime, is it under any of your headers? I know you did share the link to it in this post though.
