Happy Friday! It’s already the 3rd Friday of 2016…time is flying this year!
So I mentioned last week in my currently post that I am really into organizing and decluttering this year. I started an organization board on pinterest too! Anyways, my husband and I decided our motto this month is Let’s Be Productive!
Things are so busy with his training that the weekends are so full of things to get done. Instead of procrastinating necessary tasks, we are just going to be as productive as possible. We will see how it goes 🙂
I am changing up things a little bit for my Friday posts. Since I am doing a picture a day with the Life366 project each Thursday, I want my Friday posts to have some more stuff for you to enjoy!
Reading
I have had this book on my bookshelf for over a year. I am finally getting around to reading and loving it so far! I am a sucker for all things set in the 1920s – 1950s or the Victorian era.
Articles I loved this week:
Along the line of let’s be productive, I loved this post from Sheryl about the One Minute Rule. This was actually from last week, but I really appreciated Helene’s article about Not having a Niche for your blog! I really don’t have one, although I concentrate on recipes, gardening, DIY, writing, etc. It is really just everything I love in once place. It is nice to be reassured of that! Another one that popped out to me was this one from CGD, how to get a job based on your dreams not your degree! This is another one that was awesome for me to read. I have a degree in chemistry & math, so finding a job with those degrees was not always in the cards for me! That is why I love blogging! Here are some other things I do as a chemist!
Favorite Recipe:
This Spaghetti Squash Chow Main pin was the best recipe I saw this week! I love spaghetti squash and use it for so many different things! I also love using cauliflower for rice!
Favorite Posts:
My gluten free baking tips from Tuesday was very popular! So many thanked me for the advice! It was definitely one of my favorite projects so far. I also loved my french press coffee tips on Monday!
Favorite Bulldog Picture:
I take so many pictures of this kid everyday, but this was my favorite one from the week. Some days he is a perfect angel…other days, not so much! I took this yesterday when he was being a good boy. 🙂
I had a few people ask about my healthy champagne cupcake recipe from last weeks Friday post. It was in my newsletter, but if you want a copy of it, let me know in the comments, and I will send it right over!
To wrap up this post I wanted to share with you an awesome paypal cash giveaway we have going on! It’s a new year, so we want to help someone have a great start!

Thank you, he is such a cutie! (and a handful lol). I am hoping to get some relaxing in this weekend too. Have a great day!
Your pup is the cutest, seriously! And still need to give in and make those cookies. Maybe this weekend since the weather seems blah! Happy Friday! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
Baking is always fun when the weather sucks! He is a cutie…he kills me daily with his faces lol. Have a great weekend!
so glad you love reading as well! i just started a book club and you can stop by to vote for the book we’ll be reading in feb 🙂 So glad I came across your blog on the link up! Hope you’ll stop by mine as well 🙂 Happy Friday
That is so fun you started a book club! I love to read as much as I can, it is a nice stress reliever for me 🙂 I would love to pop over to your blog! Have a great day!

Thanks girl! Good Luck!!!!
That one minute rule article is perfect! I always try to stop and do things properly to save time later, and it’s such a huge help! My biggest one minute rule is to get the coffee maker ready the night before, so I can just push a button (or set the timer) and have coffee when I wake up!
That’s an awesome idea! I do the same thing…my mom has done this for years and she is so efficient! I took a page out of her book by just doing stuff when it needs to be done!
Happy Friday!! That book sounds really good!

Absolutely! He is a cutie pie for sure! Have a wonderful weekend!
That’s a great giveaway. I entered since I already follow a few of those bloggers and it’s a great list of people to start reading now too. I read a couple of those articles but you’ve also given me some more reading material.
Hope you have a great weekend, Alexis!
Thanks girl! I hope you enjoy your weekend!!! Happy Saturday!
One of my resolutions this year is to read more so I’d probably buy books. That’s what I buy most. Or I’d buy materials to make projects. I am trying to be more creative and making gifts – not just at christmas but for birthdays or general “I love you” reminders. 🙂
I love making gifts as well! It is so much more thoughtful I think! I am totally with you on reading more…I just bought a ton of books on amazon…I love spending money on that 🙂
Happy Friday, Alexis! 3-day weekend for me – dance dance. 🙂 Middle of January, already?! Weekend plans include dinner w/g-friend, lunch w/another friend, food/household shopping, cleaning, dog bath, keeping dog sane when the rain storms hit, workout classes, work on jewelry work area, work on some K9 volunteer stuff.
Yay for a 3 day weekend!!! I know, I can’t believe it either! Sounds like a really fun and great weekend, I hope you have a wonderful one!
Look at that sweet bulldog face! And thanks for reminding me how much I want to try french press coffee at home – YUM! Happy Friday <3
Green Fashionista

I am also on a mission to clean, organize and declutter! A new year seems appropriate for such a thing! Have a great weekend!
I agree! The New Year is the perfect time to get serious about it! Have a wonderful weekend!
I love that photo of your pup! I’ve been wanting to read The Chaperone for a while! Do you like it so far?
I’m about halfway finished, and I actually really like it. I love that time era and I enjoy that it is set in NYC. I think you would like it!
Great giveaway!!
Thanks Girl!
Ruger takes awesome pictures!! Cocoa is a handful. She is sweet but crazy!! I really like your blog and think it’s cool to have different things you post about. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
Thanks so much Julie! That means a lot 🙂 Ruger is a crazy kid too…some days I am exhausted from chasing his 80 lb body around the house all day while he gets into things lol! Have an awesome weekend!
Being productive…geez, that’s something I definitely need to work on this month (I say as I send the clothes in the dryer around for a 2nd time).
The Rad Wife
I know! I feel ya on that…I need to work on it so much!
That spaghetti squash chow mien sounds delish! Will definitely be checking it out.
I thought so too! I love spaghetti squash!
Could your pup be any cuter?!? I loveee that picture! And I feel you on decluttering/organizing – I’m reading The Magical Art of Tidying Up right now and it’s bringing out my OCD side full force, lol! Hope you had a good weekend 🙂
I really want to read that book, but still haven’t gotten it. I have a feeling my OCD would come out big time too 🙂
