Friday Favorites - May is Full of Memories on chemistrycachet.com

I love sitting down at the end of the week and looking through my favorite pictures or products to share with you. As I sat down to write this Friday post, I realized how May is a big month for us every year. I never paid much attention to that, but it seems like May is full of memories!

So, today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite memories from May!

We brought home the bulldog May 13, 2014! That picture above is him the day after we got him. He was so small and look how sweet he was? He weighed about 10 lbs then…now he weighs 83 lbs and his head is way bigger than mine lol.

Friday Favorites - May is full of memories!

I got to see one of my best friends (she’s the one from the summer memory and kool-aide stand 😉 ) last weekend. I have known her for 28 years or so. Her mom had a retirement party that I went to, and we had so much fun catching up and talking about old times. Her mom was the manager at the college bookstore for years, and I actually started working for her in May of 2005! I worked there until I got married and moved to California. When I came back to Texas, I worked for her again while I finished college. She was an amazing boss and it was great to celebrate her on Saturday!  Definitely check out that old post to see a picture of us circa 1993 🙂

Friday Favorites - May is full of memories!

Speaking of college, it is also the anniversary of my college graduation on May 11th! Three years ago I walked the stage with my chemistry and math degree on the windiest day I have ever experienced. Honestly, most of our pictures didn’t turn out well because the wind was SOOO intense (seriously Texas!). I remember trying to walk up the stage and my cap was flying off, hair in my face, and my gown was flying up too. It was a great day though! This is my dad and I after the ceremony. He graduated from the same college in 1975, so it was a great moment for him. He has a PHD now, but has his humble beginnings at Tarleton State too.

Wedding Farewells

It was also the one year anniversary of another best friend’s  wedding! I can’t believe she got married one year ago on May 24th. It was a really rainy month and the flooding around Austin was really bad, but the sun came out just in time for her wedding and it was beautiful! I have also known her for about 28 years, so I loved sharing that with her 🙂

Friday Favorites - May is Full of Memories like a wonderful trip to NOLA

The last memory I want to share today is our trip to New Orleans. Normally, our vacations are in in July or August, but we decided to take a spontaneous trip to NOLA right after my college graduation. It was one of my favorite vacations because I just loved that city. I am a huge history and architecture nerd, as well as my husband, so the I was memorized by both while we were there. It was a memorable trip for sure 🙂

So many milestone’s in May! Other ones I can think of would be my high school graduation in 2005, my brother’s high school graduation in 2012, and pretty much every last day of school from kindergarten to senior year was in May in too 🙂

Do you have any fun memories from May?

Sounds like your May is as busy and fun as mine! There are lots of school holidays in May so there’s always lots going on with the kids, plus loads of travel with my husband for work. It’s also my wedding anniversary and the kids and I are heading stateside on Sunday! May is just crazy for us but in a good way:)

Isn’t it so fun to look at past pictures?! I love it! My daughter turned 13 this month, I can’t believe it. Where does the time go? It’s fun to see her turn into a young lady, but hate how she’s growing up so fast.
    Thanks for sharing your memories!

I know, it makes me feel so old. I had 4 years off in between college when my husband was in the marines so I should have graduated in 2009….bulldog puppies are seriously so precious!

It is great that you have so many good memories for the month of May! I think May is one of the best months around here for weather. My mom and father-in-law were May babies, so May will always make me think of them as well.

I agree with that! May is fairly nice here weather wise before all the heat kicks in 🙂 Have a great weekend!

What wonderful pictures and memories… Look at baby Ruger (is he more mischievous now as a 2 year old?). And that picture of you and your dad on graduation day! I made a short trip to NOLA in 1999 as part of hubby’s company awards trip. Would like to go back with a different (er, older) set of eyes… I can’t believe May is almost over, and June is just a few days away. Yikes. Have a great holiday weekend!

I know…time is flying by so fast!! Ruger is DEFINITELY more mischievous now lol. Mainly because he is so much bigger, so he can cause more problems 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!!!
