Life is about adding sprinklesCan you believe that Thanksgiving is less than a week away now? I just don’t even understand how that is possible. It has been a really strange week for us, but I am so glad the weekend has finally come.

I posted on Tuesday about some awesome things I am doing to expand my knowledge in my blogging and hobbies. I mentioned my mom and I were taking a chalk painting class which is tomorrow! I am really looking forward to that. I am a spray painting guru, but have only done a few projects with chalk paint, so I am excited to learn more! I will definitely share what we do 🙂

Dairy-free pumpkin pieI posted a picture of the dairy-free pumpkin pie I made my hubby a few weeks ago and so many people wanted the recipe, I posted that yesterday! Definitely save the recipe if you need a diary-free option. My family loves it as much, if not more, than the traditional. And the ingredients are basic too, so not strange things to make it dairy-free!!

Ruger got his order from chewy.com this week too and he gets so excited, it’s crazy! I don’t know how he knows that package is for him, but he does! We tried this Benebone Jumbo Bacon Flavored Wishbone Dog Chew and I was really impressed. Ruger chews through bones and toys within minutes, so I love anything durable. This one is really strong, so if you have a chewer, I highly recommend.

Starting to put up the treeThe best part of this week was I started putting up the Christmas tree! I am really fanatical about my tree and it is an entire ritual when I put it up. I have to watch Christmas Vacation while I put it up and it takes hours just to do the lights. I do a combination of white and color. Then the next day, I put all the ornaments on which is another OCD thing. Everything has to be perfect and spaced out evenly. My husband helped me once and that as the first year we were married over 8 years ago! I can’t wait to share more!

Evening TeaMy husband’s schedule has been completely different this week.

For the first time in five years he is actually working a day schedule, he leaves at 4:30am which is right around the time I start my day. It has been pretty awesome, but by the time the end of the day is here, I am exhausted. Thank you bulldog lol! Notice the bone in the picture…he has about 50 toys that he drags out throughout the day. When I pick them up, he brings them back out lol. I talked about what gives me the most writing inspiration a few days ago and he definitely made the list. He is crazy that’s for sure!

I have been making herbal tea, getting my cozy PJs on and hanging out with my husband when he gets home. It is so nice to end the day together again!

Are you putting up your Christmas tree yet? What are your plans for the weekend?

We need to teach Ruger and Starla to put their toys back! Starla always takes out all of her toys before she decides what to play with. I ordered the Benebone too, and she’s a total chewer so I hope she likes it when it arrives! Happy Friday.

LOL Ruger does the exact same thing, by the end of the day I have to pick up about 20 toys! They for sure need to learn to put them back 🙂

I’m going to look at those bones because Cocoa goes through her toys SO fast!! We have not found anything that lasts too long. She even eats the elk bones and I don’t think they are supposed to be eaten 🙂

I was very impressed with this one. It is really hard and strong, Ruger has made some scratch marks on it, but that is all so far 🙂

My mother in law is very particular about how her ornaments get put on the tree too! I tried to help out one year, but it was just easier to let her do it lol
I can’t wait to set up our own tree! Can the weekend after Thanksgiving get here already?

Happy Friday and weekend Alexis! Did you know I can feel your love for your husband and Ruger as I read your blog – seriously, it literally “bounces” off my ipad screen! I’m so glad your hubby and your schedules “mesh” now. My hubby and I are about 2 hours off each other… especially on weekdays, with our work and commutes. And I’m a morning person and he’s… not. 🙂 Your tree is so pretty… We will not get our tree until December… but we keep it past January. The weekend plans are in flux right now – but the weather will be beautiful – low 70s. Have a great one!

Hi Laurie, happy Friday! That is so sweet of you and made me smile reading it! They really are both my whole world, especially my hubby 🙂 My husband is definitely not a morning person either lol and he has had to leave the house by 4:30am so that has been rough for sure (although I love it 🙂 ) Your weather sounds beautiful for the weekend. We are supposed to get our first freeze tomorrow night. I have to move all my plants in! Have a great and enjoyable weekend!

She definitely will! Ruger loves it and it is so hard, they can’t chew it up at all. He has been chewing on it all weekend and so far just a little scratch. This is one of the first ones that have held up like that!
