It was a rainy week…pretty much every day including last weekend! We have been stuck inside which has been a little nice, to be honest. On Sunday, I actually stayed in my pajamas all day and didn’t do ANY work on the computer. We just watched movies all day long and ate popcorn, on of the many rainy day activities we love!
I also got to make my own bouquet of flowers from my roses! That is one of my favorite things about having flowers in my yard…my own bouquets! I shared my rose secrets on Tuesday, in case you missed it.
Other rainy day things this week…
Ruger is obsessed with rain! Well, actually he loves mud and puddles. The rain has been so intense, the yard is like a pond. Needless to say, I have cleaned up so much mud, it’s crazy. We actually just went ahead and put up a temporary fence in our backyard, so he can only get to a small portion of high ground. Silly bulldog!
I tried out another salmon treat from chewy.com for Ruger. He really loved these! I love the ingredients are just one thing, salmon! This brand also has chicken and beef, but Ruger really loves fish. These didn’t have too strong of an odor, it was similar to fish food. I would definitely buy them again and check out more from this brand. Thank you again chewy for our new treats!
I have done so much baking between last weekend and this week. Best thing to do on a rainy day! This is a little behind the scenes on the banana chocolate chip scones I made on snapchat (find me there with username alexisroch) Saturday. I redid an old recipe of mine and turned into a much healthier version, and they turned out amazing! I am sharing the full details on Monday.
I also played around with a vintage cake recipe I haven’t used in a long time. It turned out really good to, so that will be making it’s way to the blog soon. In case you missed Mondays post, here is the recipe for that homemade vanilla extract.
There is also a few more hours left on this Starbucks giveaway! I’d love for you to enter and if you are a blogger or business owner, be sure to stop this post and leave a comment for me! You will enter to win a free ad space 🙂
You probably saw on instagram this week that we have had a ton of rain, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will finally get our new roof today! It has been way over am a month since the damage, so it needs it!
What are your plans for the weekend? How is the weather were you are right now?

I love how vibrant they are! I sort of wish Ruger hated the rain…because the mud is a serious issue lol Happy Friday!!

Relaxing on the couch in PJs all day long sounds fantastic right about now! That’s one of the benefits of rainy days is that it forces you to stay in and keep quiet. That’s awesome you can make your own bouquets. I need to do some landscaping and replanting this weekend but i’m not sure if I’m ready to tackles rose bushes as yet.
Alexis says
It does force you to stay in which is sometimes such a nice break!! I am hoping to get some more yard work stuff done this week…it needs it so bad!!!

Baking is the best way to spend a rainy day in my opinion!!

Happy Friday Alexis! Hope your roof work is underway and progressing smoothly… I don’t think I’ve ever spent a day in PJs… Do sweats and floppy t-shirt count? Oh, your little boy is a mud baby… Ann doesn’t care for the rain and wind (something that came on as she got older). Currently it is light rain and windy here in CA. We’ve had the gamut of weather this week – high 80s and sunny at the beginning of the week and zooming down to the 60s and rain today. Should be sunny and dry for the next few days. I hope to do some gardening this weekend… Have a great day!

They are coming along great on the roof!! I don’t often spend the day in Pjs, but sometimes I just get right into comfortable sweats! I think it is almost the same thing 🙂 Oh man, he is loving the mud for sure! We are hoping it will stay dry a little bit here, but looks like even more rain next week!! Have a great weekend!

I would tell you that next week I am off to Europe and ask if you have any travels planned in the near future?
Alexis says
How exciting!!! What part of Europe? I would love to have some upcoming travel plans. My husband is going through law enforcement training, so maybe when he gets done we can go somewhere! But that is awhile away, so until then I just keep daydreaming about it 🙂
