Friday Favorites - Summer Is Coming in Texas! This beautiful summery sunrise on chemistrycachet.com

This week was a little slower than normal…I think because it was the first time in MONTHS there hasn’t been some sort of stressful situation happening at the house. Which I am so grateful for the change of pace! At the same time, it made the week go by  a little slower.

Did you see my post on instagram yesterday morning? I really thought it was Friday when I woke up! Then, I realized it wasn’t and I was like WOW, this day is gonna be long. So I made a huge batch of chocolate hazelnut iced coffee and got to work 🙂

I can always tell when summer is coming in Texas because, well first of all, the heat starts happening. We had some super hot days in the high 90s this week which I wasn’t completely ready for. The other sign is the beautiful, fire like sunrises. The mornings are so beautiful and cool in the summer, and the sunrises are amazing!

Friday Favorites - Summer is Coming in Texas!

If you follow me on snapchat (alexisroch), you saw me talking about how hot it was on Tuesday when we went to the park for a walk. It was already 90 by 9am, so it was a sweaty walk for sure. My friend and I had a little business meeting afterwards at the coffee shop with iced green teas. We are working on some pretty neat stuff that I can’t wait to share with you soon!!!

Summer is Coming in Texas! Getting the backyard ready with some vintage cushions and potted plants on chemistrycachet.com

You probably saw a bit of this on snapchat too, but I finally founds some outdoor furniture this week! As you know, the tornado took away all the outdoor furniture. Some of it was twisted up, and some of it is completely gone. Like the patio umbrella, I have no idea where that took off too! So, I have been searching for this some replacements. I saw this vintagy looking cushions and had to get them. Aren’t they cute? I will share full details soon! Look out for a post next week on some backyard tips too.

I whipped up a quick batch of cookies this week too. Be sure to check out this post on nifty kitchen items I can’t live without. I talk about these pans…they make cookie baking perfect!

Chemistry Cachet's Summer board...summer is coming in Texas!

Speaking of summer coming, I have been pinning more summer inspiration to my summer board!! Anything popsicle, watermelon, ice cream…just screams summer to me! Whoo hoo! Oh and here is that popcorn recipe in case you missed it…another great summer inspired treat!

This weekend I am hoping to finish up some backyard projects…although it is supposed to rain the  whole weekend again, so we will see!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Happy Friday friend! Love the brightly colored backyard cushions! Watermelon – soooo good and juicy! If I smash the pieces, Ann will eat some and drink the juice. I don’t handle 90 degrees well, at 9am or any other time, especially with humidity! This weekend – dog bath, fix the lawnmower, and more gardening! Those darn weeds, especially the fox tails!!! Enjoy your weekend!

That fire sunrise is gorgeous! Even though the week felt like it slugged by it’s a big bonus you didn’t have to deal with any other house issues. Your hazelnut iced coffee sounds delicious!

I’m slightly jealous of the warm weather you are having. We are now having unseasonably cold weather – it’s insane. Hope it has been a great weekend!!

Oddly enough, we had really really chilly rainy weather this weekend. Texas is all over the place this time of year. I tried to take advantage of it though, since I know that 100 degree weather is right around the corner! Hope you have a great week!
