Hacks that will make your home look clean in minutes on chemistry cachet

I am back with a time efficiency post today, these are hacks that will make your home look clean in minutes!

While I love science, and love sharing the science behind things like cleaning and skincare, I am also a huge time efficiency expert. It has been a thing of mine for decades, and it can be a little bit annoying for those around me lol

Even a simple trip to the grocery store or running errands around town, I calculate the quickest route, the time of day that is best to go in order to do things at the same time, and I try to maximize my time and what I can get done in the time allotted for errands.

Here are some of my cleaning tips you can tackle in a few minutes to make your home look clean.

Hacks That Will Make Your Home Look Clean In Minutes

The Best Hacks, Tips, and Tricks To Make Your Home Look Clean

There is a time for deep cleaning, but also a time for quick cleaning.

You might wonder if there is really a time to just quick clean? If we keep our homes cleaned regularly, is there even a time for a rushed cleaning session? I think so. Even if your home is kept clean, things like clutter or carpets that aren’t vacuumed can make your home look dirty.

I do these quick cleaning hacks each morning before I take Amelia to school. When I get back from taking her to school, everything looks so clean as the sun shines through the windows.

If you having someone stopping by in a few minutes or only have a few minutes before you leave, try these tips!

The vacuum cleaner in this post has been such a great tool for me to get cleaning quick. Also the microfiber cloth! One of my favorite cleaning tools!

Quickly Pick Up Clutter

Before you do anything to clean, you need to pick up the clutter. If you have someone coming over to your home, the clutter will make things look dirtier than they are.

The top areas to remove clutter are counter tops and the floor. Hang up clothes in the closet, pick up dirty clothes on the floor and toss them in the dirty clothes basket, and remove all the items from counters and tables.

Whenever I do this, my home looks drastically better.

Clean Your Counters

If your home is picked up, but the counters are dirty, everything looks dirty!! Here is my quick cleaning hack for counters. Grab a microfiber cloth and wet one side of it. With the wet side, scrub and wipe off all the counters. With the dry side, dry off any remaining dampness. Microfiber is one of the best cleaning hacks there is. It makes cleaning very quick, so it is always my go to for speed cleaning.

For a deeper clean, I use my all-purpose cleaner from the eBook for counters. I love this DIY cleaner because it works for all surfaces even natural stone.

Don’t Forget The Baseboards

I am a baseboard person. If I am cleaning the house and even doing speed cleaning like in this post, I always wipe off the baseboards in the main area. I notice baseboards everywhere I go. If they are dirty, then the house seems dirty. Take a microfiber cloth again, wet it until it is damp, then run it along the baseboards of noticeable areas. It only takes a few minutes! It will remove dirt and dust quickly. For more in-depth cleaning, be sure to check out our baseboard cleaning post which has gone viral several times.

Do A Quick Vacuum

I think freshly vacuumed carpets make the house look much cleaner! If you have carpet, a quick vacuum will always make your home look clean in minutes. One of the best purchases I made a few years ago was this cordless vacuum. It is very light weight, so I can grab it and vacuum very quickly. No cords, no plugging in and lugging around the big vacuum. It also has a handheld wand attachment which I use several times a day. My house is so much cleaner now with this vacuum! I love this vacuum so much, I did a blog post on it last year you can check out.

Now Make Sure Your House Smells Good

The last important tip for a quick cleaning is to make sure your house smells good too. Even if your home is clean,  it can feel dirty if it doesn’t smell good. There are a few things I like to do. First, I use zeolite rocks and place them around the house. This is really great for small areas like bathrooms or closets. It helps remove bad odors from pets, garbage or smoke.  I also love spraying Grow Fragrance everywhere. The spring scents are out, and they are fantastic! These are plant-based, non-toxic room and fabric sprays I use around the home. I love spraying pillows, the couch, chairs, and just the air in general. I keep them in the bathrooms too.

I hope this post has given you some great tips for quick cleaning! There are so many spaces to clean in your home, but these top ideas are what makes the biggest difference for me.
