Hocus Pocus PotionWhen I think of Halloween I think of witches, green poisonous apples, a creepy scientist laboratory, spiders, cauldrons bubbling away, and all things Hocus Pocus! I love Halloween, it is so much fun!

And of course, my ALL TIME FAVORITE movie is Hocus Pocus which we practically watch daily in October 🙂 You know the potion Winifred Sanderson cooks up in the cauldron? It is all green and bubbly which is what I wanted to recreate!

Anyways, I found this fantastic Erlenmeyer Flask and immediately had to buy it. Every chemist loves a good Erlenmeyer! I wanted to make a fun drink for Halloween to go inside, and I finally perfected a recipe I have been working on. It is bubbly, creamy, green, but so delicious!

I love this drink because you can make it for a kids party or you can jazz it up into the perfect adult beverage! It is versatile in many ways and so easy to make!

It also has this fantastic Vintage appeal to it…plus it is completely healthy for anyone to enjoy!

Okay, here is how you can make your own hocus pocus potion at home!

Hocus Pocus Potion

  • 1/2 large green apple, diced
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your favorite milk)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1-2 tbsp vanilla creamer (or your favorite cream)
  • 16 oz bottle of lime sparkling water or green apple sparkling water
  • Green food coloring
  • Ice
  • For the adults: Add 1-2 oz of vanilla vodka

Directions:

  1. In a good blender, blend the apple, milk, yogurt and creamer until it is completely smooth. Add in about 1 cup of ice and blend again.

2. Next, add in about 5 drops of food coloring or until you get the green color you want!

3. Pour half the contents in a glass, then fill the rest of the glass with your sparkling water. It will create a bubbly surface!

This can make two large servings, or even four small servings. You can easily double this recipe for a party too!

This is such a fun idea! I saw mimosas bubble this this yesterday and thought it looked like a science experiment and then this pops up. You’re a mind reader!

Happy Monday Alexis – hope you had a great weekend. Mine was a rollercoaster… This bubbly green drink meets with my offbeat sense of humor to throw others off… love it! And the flask… I remember those from my chem days! I think I might need to find a copy of Hocus Pocus to watch! “double bubble, toil and trouble” – MacBeth…
    Have a great day!
