Thank you to AO2 Clear for sponsoring this post today. All opinions are my own.
Today, I am sharing how AO2 Clear uses nanobubble technology for treating acne, keeping skin clean, and helping with overall skin health.
If you are looking for something clean, safe, and very effective at treating acne, AO2 Clear is the answer!
Even if you don’t suffer from acne, this product is fantastic for all skin types to provide a healthy skin environment.
I have been using it several months, and my skin feels very clean.
How AO2 Clear Uses Nanobubble Technology For Treating Acne
I get emails from readers all the time about products to help with acne issues and breakouts. This is a common problem for people at any age! Two of my best friends suffer from acne prone skin, so I have made it a goal to find products that work to treat acne safely.
Many acne treatments are very harsh and dry out your skin, and this can make your skin look even worse.
This nanobubble technology is so unique and gentle, pregnant and nursing women can use it too! It is not harsh or rough on the skin.
Here is How AO2 Clear Works:
AO2 Clear works very uniquely with oxygen and nanobubbles to get deep into pores and targets the bacteria that causes acne.
Oxygen is a natural element that works as an antibacterial. Topical oxygen also reduces inflammation on the skin.
Nanobubbles are a highly effective delivery system due to the particle size. Measuring at one-billionth of a meter, they are 1000x smaller than the pores on your skin. This allows the oxygen to easily get deep into the pores.
This oxygenated nanobubble technology doesn’t just dry up acne, it actually targets bacteria causing acne to treat AND prevent breakouts. This is a very simple and effective treatment, but the science lies in how to get it to the skin. AO2 Clear uses distilled water and oxygenated nanobubbles together to successfully bring the oxygen to your skin.
How To Properly Use AO2 Clear
With any skincare product, using it properly is crucial to achieve results. AO2 Clear is packaged very specifically to make sure you get the right amount of product.
Here is how to use it:
- First, take a fresh pad and place it into the tray provided (picture above). The pads are stiff before the liquid is added
- Pour the AO2 solution into the tray making sure to fill it up to the top and really saturate the pad. The solution is packaged specifically for using this much product, so make sure the pad is fully saturated. The pad will fill up and become soft and sponge like.
- Wipe all surfaces of your face after washing with your regular cleanser. Remember AO2 is not a cleanser, so always wash face as you normally would.
- Dispose of the pad after you wipe the surface of your face. Allow your face to dry.
- You can now apply your regular skincare routine.

How Long Does It Take AO2 Clear To Work
Use AO2 Clear twice a day for 30 days to see results for acne. You might achieve results much sooner, but it is always important to allow the full 30 days for your skin to repair and the bacteria to be treated.
If you want to use AO2 for clean and healthy skin, you will notice results even sooner. My skin feels very healthy and clean using this daily. It helps with inflammation and also helps with my eczema prone skin.
Other Things To Keep In Mind
- Don’t reuse the pads! Your package comes with enough pads to use twice per day for 30 days. Reusing pads might negate the antibacterial aspect.
- Don’t worry about running out of solution for the month. This is packaged with ample product to use properly.
- Once you open the container, it is good for 15 days. There are two containers of AO2 clear solution in your package, each one is good for 15 days once it is opened. After 15 days, the oxygen count starts to drop.
Does This Work For Any Type of Acne?
Yes, it does. If you have hormonal acne or congested acne, this works for all types due to the mechanism of oxygenated nanobubbles. I have even seen success with blackheads!
Oxygenation vs Oxidation
When you talk about oxygen use, it is useful to know there is a difference between oxygenated and oxidation. When I talk about these things relating to skincare, I always have one or two questions pop up about oxidation. Isn’t oxidation bad for your skin? Yes it is! But oxygenated is different.
In the chemistry world, oxidation is the loss of hydrogen and the gain of oxygen. Oxidation on your skin can be caused by an imbalance of production and accumulation of oxygen.
On the other hand, oxygenated means to enrich, supply or treat with oxygen. Oxygenated skincare is very beneficial, but hard to achieve. AO2 Clear uses nanobubbles in distilled water which is the perfect way to get the oxygen delivered deep into your skin!
Can Anyone Use AO2 Clear?
Yes! I do not have acne prone skin, but I LOVE it! My skin feels very light and clean using this product. It creates the perfect environment for my other skincare products to work. I notice a difference in skin inflammation as well. I have very sensitive eczema prone skin, so I have really enjoyed using this.
If you want clean, healthy skin, this product can be used by anyone! You can use it at any age or with any skincare products.
If you are pregnant and breastfeeding, this is safe to use too!
Now you know how AO2 clear uses nanobubble technology for treating acne and preventing it too!

Have you heard of purging when using this? I couldn’t find any information, except for positive things, so I ordered some… And then, of course, the next day there was an Instagram post, and people were commenting that their skin purged after using this!
Alexis says
No, I have never heard of this. And it didn’t happen to my skin or any of my friends who tried this! I wouldn’t think this would be the case since this is just nanobubbles, there isn’t anything else in the ingredients. It doesn’t work like chemical exfoliants which can purge your skin when you first begin (things like AHA’s and BHA’s). I bought some for my friend and gave it to her for her birthday, she suffers from really bad acne. Her skin was clearing up after a few weeks, but she didn’t have any negative reactions to it. Sorry I don’t have more information with this!
