Even though the first day of Winter isn’t until the end of December, the day after Thanksgiving is the beginning of winter celebrations to me. It is the time to rejoice in the Christmas season and dream of all things snowy, sparkly, and cozy. Although we may not get winter like weather until February, I still love day dreaming of a white Christmas 🙂
As a person addicted to list making, I love coming back to a good list and crossing off what I have done. Isn’t that the best feeling??? Especially a to do list. I feel so productive and accomplished when I get to check off projects or activities. Best thing ever!
I shared my fall list back in September and yesterday I flipped through my notebook and found where I had written it down, and started checking off all the great things we accomplished.
So, here’s how we on our fall to do:
Dallas Arboretum – this was such a great time! I am so glad we got to go experience this. It was the perfect way to welcome fall!
Make Caramel Apples – my mom and I had a blast doing this, and I got to really perfect my dairy free version for my husband. They turned out great!
Make Kettle Corn – this was done MANY times this year while watching our favorite Halloween/fall movies. This cinnamon caramel microwave version was for sure a staple this fall!
Fall Walks – we did this many times too. Our last fall walk was on the day before Thanksgiving. It was a really warm, 78 degree day, but some big storms were moving in. It was sunny, yet dark with thunder clouds. It was the perfect way to start the holiday. Thanksgiving Day turned rainy, and since then it has been much chillier with so much rain. I was so glad we took advantage on that beautiful day. Here are some pictures from that walk and some other memorable ones 🙂
Carve Pumpkins – yes! And it was a big success with our bulldog pumpkin!
Watch all of our favorite Fall/Halloween movies – Many times!
Perfect pumpkin chai tea latte to share with you! – this one turned out even better than I had hoped. Definitely check out this recipe because it was a reader favorite for sure. I had some email me and say they were ADDICTED to making it lol. Also, I shared another version on instagram using this really good pumpkin spice syrup.
With some unexpected events, we didn’t get to take a drive to Athens this year. Fall foliage has come late to Texas anyways, so I wasn’t too disappointed in missing out on that. And it will for sure be on the list for next year!
We also didn’t get to fully attend the hot air balloon festival, but we did go to the harvest moon festival downtown and that was fun!
Of course the best way to end our fall to do was with a great Thanksgiving, complete with my mom’s amazing turkey!
Today, I am writing down my Christmas to do and I am so excited about that! Fall is beautiful and amazing, but Christmas is my true love. I can’t wait to share it with you soon and hopefully you can get some inspiration from it.
I have some really fun Christmas posts planned for this month. I am excited to take full advantage of my favorite holiday and share some wonderful things with you. Recipes, DIY, traditions, and more. Yay for Christmas!
Are you a Christmas fanatic too? Tell me how your fall was as well! I would love to hear about the adventures you had!

It sounds like you accomplished a lot this fall even if you didn’t get to do everything you planned on. I’ve heard such great things about the Dallas Arboretum but we’ve never made it out there, even though we visit Dallas quite often. Can’t wait to see all of your Christmas posts!

You definitely must visit it when you can! They also do an awesome Christmas display which I hope we can go to this season! I am so excited about Christmas!

Great job on your goals for last month!!

I was so happy to get most of them done! Some years we just get too busy, so I was grateful to have more time this year 🙂

Wow – you got a lot done on your to-do list! Love your pictures! I took a spa trip to Utah, did a chocolate tasting/tour, and volunteered at a special K9 (police/military) handler training session. Oh, and spoiled a golden retriever with walks and play time! That was October/November – I can’t remember much farther back…
Alexis says
That sounds like so much fun! It does seem like anything before October was just so long ago!
