So, what exactly is Matrixyl 3000?
Matrixyl 3000 is formed from two peptides that work to restore and maintain the skin’s youthful appearance by signaling cells to product more collagen. These two peptides are palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7. Matrixyl 3000 is scientifically-proven to stimulate collagen production, which results in anti-aging effects!

As I was researching ingredients that work to stimulate and boost collagen, I was really intrigued by the number of benefits from matrixyl 3000. It is one of the most studied and recommend ingredients in anti-aging, and it is safe for anyone to use. Even those with sensitive skin!

The number one benefit to Matrixyl 3000 is the collagen stimulation. It works to trick the skin thinking it isn’t producing collagen, and begins to speed up production. I started using it twice a day and noticed results after about 2 weeks. You need to allow 2 full months of use to see the full effect of collagen production!
Increases Skin Elasticity
In addition to collagen growth, it will also increase skin elasticity. I was really impressed with the “bouncy” feeling to my jawline. As we get older, this is one of those areas that will start to sag a little and not have the same elastic feeling it used to.

When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks like I just put on a hydrating mask!

With enhanced hydration, you will get glowing skin too. This is something I notice when I wake up each morning after using this serum. My skin is dewy, with a nice glow too!

The three benefits above all work together to drastically improve signs of aging. It will stimulate collagen, increase elasticity and hydration which softens wrinkles, plumps fine lines, and also firms your skin.
How Long Does It Take To Work?
I noticed very hydrated dewy skin after a few days. About two weeks into using this, I noticed more skin elasticity around my jawline and forehead. You need to allow 2 month’s of use to see the full effect though. This is a standard timeline for most skincare ingredients.
A little goes a long way with this serum. It is very thick, so I apply a small amount morning and night to my forehead, crow’s feet area, jawline and cheeks. This bottle will last you a long time and allow you to see the results!
Who Can Use This?
Anyone! It is very safe and gentle, so you can use this with sensitive skin, acne prone skin, or very dry skin. It will not cause any irritation.
What Step Do You Use Matrixyl 3000 in Your Skincare Routine?
This is a water based serum, so it will go on the skin after cleansing and toning if you use a toner.Apply this serum and let it dry before applying other serums. You can then use other water based serums on top. I would keep it to just a few others to not overload your skin. Top all of your water based serums with a moisturizer.
What Not to Mix Matrixyl 3000 with
It is important to keep in mind products that don’t go well together so you can avoid irritating your skin. For this matrixyl 3000 product, you want to avoid using it with acids like BHA’s, AHA’s, or Azelic acid. Be sure to read the manufacturer’s recommendation on this here. If you are using a product in this category, you can alternate using them. For instance, when I use a resurfacing wipe at night every few days, I don’t apply other serums that night. I use them in the morning or on separate nights. You just don’t want to use them at the same time.
You can Enhance The Matrixyl 3000 with Depology’s Unique Microdart Patches

Is there any effect on brown spots?
Research does not show anything specific for brown spots…although anytime you work on collagen production it can help with brown spots too. I would check out this post we did on brown spots and hyperpigmentation for more ingredient specifics for this skin concern.

Yes I do! This is still the one I like best and my mom uses Neocell everyday too 🙂
I’ve been trying others and just can’t find anything I like. If you and your mom both pick Neocell, that sounds like a winner to me. Thank you so much.
The price vs results ratio for neocell makes me continue to like it best. I have tried some more expensive brands that also work, but not any better…so it isn’t worth it to me to do anything more expensive. Neocell is grass-fed and non-gmo, so that is important. My mom loves it. She stopped using for awhile because she just got busy and didn’t buy more. She said she could tell a difference in her skin, so she started using it again. She said her skin feels much more hydrated especially her face. She is 66 🙂 My dark circles and overall skin hydration also improve a lot when I am taking collagen, so I try to take it each day. You do need a lot of vitamin C in your diet for collagen to work, so I recommend taking a supplement with it.
