Clean the outside of the vents with microfiber
Start at the top of the bathroom and work down. Bathroom vents can get dusty, so grab a microfiber cloth and simply wipe it off. The microfiber can be damp to remove all the residue on the vents. I like using a damp microfiber because it catches all the dust, but also gets into all the grooves of a vent.
Use this method for light fixtures
Light fixtures also get dusty, but all you need is a damp microfiber cloth to wipe them off and remove dust.
Scrub toilets from top to bottom
First, make this DIY toilet bowl cleaner to clean the inside of your toilet plus this silicone toilet brush. You can also use this solution to clean the outside of the toilet. I like to use the microfiber cloth we talked about to also clean around the outside of the toilet. If you need to clean up things like urine around the toilet, use an enzyme cleaner. After your toilet is totally clean, it is time to disinfect it.
You can use rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or a store-bought option like Force of Nature. Spray the entire surface with your disinfectant, allow it to sit for 10 minutes, then wipe off.
Use this quick daily bathtub cleaner
Not only is this homemade cleaner great for daily use after using your bathtub or shower, it is great for deep cleaning. Spray your entire surface, allow it to sit for 10 minutes, then scrub off. It helps to remove soap scum and buildup on ceramic or other bathroom surfaces. Learn more on using it in this blog post.
Clean the dirtiest shower doors with this pink paste
Glass shower doors are the part of your bathroom that always look dirty! And if you have really bad hard water buildup on the door, it is almost impossible to remove it. I have discovered the answer to this with this cheap and easy to use pink paste! On a wet shower door, apply this paste and scrub with a sponge in a circular motion. It magically removes all hard water stains. Check out more glass shower door cleaning hacks here.
Squeegee the shower door after rinsing
After you use the pink paste or anything to clean the shower door, always use a squeegee after rinsing it. And remember to use a squeegee anytime you take shower to remove all traces of water and keep hard water buildup from accumulating. I like this one that hangs from my shower head so it doesn’t get mold.
Use an electric scrub brush for sinks and showers
If you haven’t gotten an electric scrub brush, I highly recommend it. Not only does it cut down on cleaning time, but it cleans more efficiently too. I love using this inside of sinks, and it is great in the shower too. It has attachments for corners as well.
Clean floors with a microfiber mop and this floor cleaner
These microfiber heads for a swiffer mop are fantastic and make floor cleaning easier. I also use the Pink Stuff floor cleaner because it works so well for my tile floors.
Tackle grout with this two ingredient solution
For shower grout that is dirty and needing attention, you can create this solution with just hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. It cleans all types of grout and will remove stains and mildew too. Get the instructions and ingredients here.
