How to Host the Sweetest Valentine’s Day Party for You and Your Girlfriends

Are you feeling the pressure of Valentine’s Day? Why not skip the fancy dinner reservations or the night of sitting home alone feeling sorry for yourself and instead, invite your best gal pals over for a night of the best kind of love there is: BFF love!

Make Valentine’s Day a night filled with love, laughs and fun with your best friends. You won’t even care about the fact that you’re single or that your guy hasn’t texted you back all day. Even if some of your friends get a little emotional, they’ll at least be surrounded by friends who can cheer them up in no time.

Here’s how to throw a sweet and simple Valentine’s Day party that’s all about the girls. No boys allowed.

How to Host the Sweetest Valentine’s Day Party for You and Your Girlfriends

Turn Up the Music

Get the party going right away by having some real girl power music playing as your guests arrive. Create a playlist of your favorite empowering songs by inspiring female artists or have every girl create her own playlist and switch DJs throughout the night! This can be a fun way to find new music and jam out to different songs. A girls’ night playlist will set the mood and get everyone dancing. And don’t forget to include a little karaoke!

Treat Yourselves

Is there anything better than a spa night with your best friends? Transform your Valentine’s Day party into a spa to make your guests feel pampered and flawless, as they should. Give each other mani pedis, indulge in exfoliating face masks, do each other’s hair and makeup just for fun and take goofy pictures with each other. There’s no reason why you can’t treat yourselves to some self-love this Valentine’s Day!

Drink Up

Raise a glass and toast to those guys who broke your heart. You’re better off without them anyway. Plus, it wouldn’t be a party without some delicious Valentine’s Day cocktails to sip on while talking and laughing the night away with your girlfriends. Set up a mimosa bar on the counter with a variety of mimosa flavors and fresh fruit! A few pitchers of mimosas makes for a cute bar area and everyone can have what they want without the need to have someone bartend throughout the night.

Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

Let’s be real. Valentine’s Day isn’t about love, it’s about chocolate. Indulge in your favorite sweet treat, like these mini peanut butter cheesecakes or have everyone bring a sweet snack to share! You could also make heart shaped sugar cookies and have a cookie decorating contest. Provide icing and sprinkles and let everyone decorate their own cookies for a fun activity throughout the evening. When the activities are winding down for the evening, whip up some hot cocoa for everyone to enjoy before they head out into the cold. It’s a great and cozy way to end the night!

DIY Together

While you have your girls all together, why not throw in a little DIY craft project? For those who are a little bummed about not having a significant other to share the night with, creating something with friends is the perfect remedy. You can make heart shaped soaps that everyone can take home or cute canvas heart art that all of your besties can hang up in their homes to be reminded of their best friends. Crafting is always fun, but it’s so much better with girlfriends and wine! A craft night would be a perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day.

Spread the Love

No matter how much fun you’re having, love is probably still on everyone’s mind. But there’s no reason why all of your girlfriends can’t feel loved this holiday! During your party, have a stack of small pieces of paper and pens available. Encourage your friends to write notes about what they love about one another and place them into a basket. After everyone has had a chance to write a few notes, gather everyone around and take turns reading the notes out loud. This is a great reminder that everyone is loved and that your friends’ love is more than enough.

Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples! These ideas will help you throw the best girls only Valentine’s Day party ever. Your best friends will want to repeat this tradition year after year and spend Valentine’s Day with the girls who love them the most.

Fun post! I’m not with anyone, so I love the idea of really celebrating my girlfriends. It would be fun to do a craft or decorate cookies!

What a great idea to have a girls’ Valentine’s Day party! I love the theme suggestions. For V Day, I’ll be with a few of my friends in a workout class – pumping weights. But we will have a good time, laughter and sweat… maybe I’ll write notes to them and tell them how much I treasure them… Thanks for sharing these ideas!
