makeyourowndesktrayI am so excited to share this Really Cute, Easy DIY Desk Tray tutorial for the Office. This is probably my favorite item in my home office right now, and it couldn’t have been easier or cheaper to make!

You may have noticed by now, at Chemistry Cachet, I’m ALL about reusing, repurposing, and recycling. I also like easy DIY projects that are cheap and add a little something to your space. Like this easy DIY Bulletin Board.

I have been wanting a little desk tray for my office to put odds and ends on. The side of my desk is constantly cluttered with pens, a stapler, business cards, supplements (if they aren’t by my computer, I forget them!), and other little things. It makes cleaning the desk off quit a chore! Problem solved with this make your own desk tray. Just move it whenever you need! It could also be cute for setting papers on! You may have seen a little sneak peak of this on instagram!

I definitely can’t take all the credit, my sweet husband did the cutting for me. I am notorious for being accident prone, so I’m not allowed around sharp objects! 🙂

This project cost me $0.00 because I had all the supplies, but even if I didn’t…everything was very cheap!

Really Cute, Easy DIY Desk Tray for the Office. Seven easy steps and practically free to make!

What You Need:

♥Old frame, any size really. I used a regular 8×10
♥Thin Plywood (to fit inside and replace glass)
♥Sander or sandpaper
♥Acrylic paint in two colors
♥Sponge brush
♥Acrylic Sealer
♥Knobs/handles

And that’s it! Seven easy steps for a DIY desk tray. You can use any color schemes you want, and any kind of knobs you want. I HIGHLY recommend hot glue for this instead of drilling holes. Most frames aren’t very durable, so it could crack the wood! This little tray currently sits on my computer desk with a little jar of fresh flowers too.

Me too, I’ve been wanting one for months, but I hated all the boring “business” ones at the store. I wanted something cute, so I decided to make my own! 🙂

I got my trays from IKEA and it cost me £5 for both. Boy the work you get to do, I am not sure i would do this, but it sounds like fun in summer time maybe 🙂 For the boys lolol!

I live so far away from Ikea and other stores like that, so I love coming up with things to make at home! This was so easy and free! I always have trouble finding items that go with my area too…it is definitely a fun summer project 🙂
