My inspiring sprint to-do list

When I was at my parent’s house a few weeks back, I took this picture of a tree out front that always has the prettiest white blossoms. From far away, it kind of looks like a tree full of cotton balls! I just love this aspect of springs, despite the Texas storms, it really is a beautiful time of year.

Although there are more summer activities to look forward to, spring is a more leisurely time of year. The slow place of winter is gradually picking up, but there is still a time to relax before the craziness of summer.

I LOVE making to-do lists because sometimes I have all these ideas of things I want to do, and I get too busy to remember them all! So, yes, I am a total list addict! Check out my summer to-do and Fall List for different seasonal inspiration 🙂

My inspiring spring to-do list I look foward to every year! Stop by for some inspiration to add to your list this spring!

Things on my inspirational spring to- do list this year include:

Finish cleaning out yard and weeding.

Spring is the best time of year to clean up the yard. After the tornado we had, my hard is in SERIOUS need of clean up for sure. This time of year, I always hand pull as many weeds as possible before they grow out of control!

Finish stone path in the backyard.

Another project that has been put on hold due to storms, but we hope to finish this up very soon! I will share a tutorial on that soon! If you missed it last year, check out our backyard pergola, corner garden, and porch swing!

Spruce up the patio and pergola area with more potted plants!

I just finished up my potted mini rose series, part one and two. I can’t wait to add some more geraniums and hibiscus too!

Spring Clean

The entire house!

Clean the Grill!

If you get my monthly newsletter, you saw that I mentioned grilling season is soon. I shared one of my favorite recipes with you, but our favorite way to prepare it is on the grill. My hubby and I are huge grill fans, so I can’t wait to get it all cleaned up and ready to go!

Take Ruger to dog park!

He hasn’t been since the fall, and it is his favorite place ever! Spring is the perfect time to take your dog to the park since it isn’t hot yet, and everything is started to green up! Ruger could probably play fetch for hours if we let him. I can’t wait for him to get back out there this spring!

Photograph downtown Fort Worth.

Downtown Fort Worth is one of our favorite places to go. I just love the architecture and unexpected places we always find. I was born in downtown Fort Worth, so it holds a special place in my heart. I have been working on some photography experimenting, and I definitely want to head there to take some more pictures before the summer heat!

Spring Tea at the Ashton Hotel.

This is also in downtown Fort Worth, but so fun. I took my friend there last spring for her bachelorette party, and we had a blast. I really want to go back this season!

Go bluebonnet exploring!

One of the unmistakable signs of spring in Texas is the bluebonnets. We always like to drive through the country to find the best bluebonnet patches.

Read outside as often as possible while the weather is nice!

Summer comes fast in Texas…so I love living in the moment of spring while I can. I’ve been reading some fun stuff recently, and I will be sharing a spring list soon. In the meantime, join me on snapchat (@alexisroch) for some recommendations 🙂

What is on your spring to-do this year?

I’m probably such a minority but I actually enjoy spring cleaning-haha. Especially if it is outdoor work. To me, it is really rewarding to bring everything back to life again and make it pretty. Great list! Also, those blossoms are gorgeous!

I absolutely agree! People think my husband and I are super weird because we get so excited to go outside to work, pull weeds, and mow lol. But it is definitely rewarding! I guess I get it from my grandma who is 86 years old and still has a ranch. She works her butt off outside all the time!

This is such a great list! I spent most of yesterday spring cleaning, and it felt so good to get a lot done! I love downtown Ft. Worth. One of my favorite downtown areas! The architecture is so great!

Sounds like a pretty good list! Spring is such an interesting time: Everything is beautiful and all I really want to do is go hang out at the park, but Spring is also a time where I really do need to accomplish a large to do list.

I am also a list person : ) Each week, I’m trying to tackle one cleaning/organizing project as part of my spring cleaning efforts. For my bachelorette party, we went to a high tea downtown Chicago, and I absolutely loved it. I had to look up what bluebonnets were, but wow, they are so gorgeous! Hope you post pictures : )

Happy pre-spring! Definitely need to weed/trim back the yards. Good grief, with all the rain, it’s a jungle out there, and weeding is def easier when the ground is damp. I’d love to do a high tea – maybe in San Francisco, or else a smaller tucked away town nearby. My indoor plants could use a sprucing up – Phil the philodendron has gone bonkers! And continuing the ongoing house cleaning/organizing. And delve into my stash of books – I’m trying to refrain from going to the library until I get a good portion of my personal books read… ha!

I did some weeding yesterday and it was so much easier with that ground being saturated! I really need to get reading on my stack of books too! I just get excited and buy new ones before I finish the old ones lol. Hope you have a great day Laurie!

I’ve seen photos of the beautiful blue bonnets in Texas but never in real life. My spring list also consists of giving our garden a facelift as it’s looking very bare these days. Plants have died and weeds have popped up everywhere.
