Today, we are talking about is your scalp pH the key to healthy hair?

Your scalp pH is naturally around 5.5 which means it is slightly acidic. The pH of your hair shaft is also acidic with a range around 3.6.

But guess what?

Many products for your hair including shampoos can actually be more alkaline on the pH scale (over 7) which is impacting your scalp and hair.

Is Your Scalp (and Hair) pH They Key To Healthy Hair?

A study conducted on shampoo and hair health proved that the increased negative charge on hair in alkaline conditions elevates friction between strands, ultimately contributing to cuticle damage and hair breakage. Furthermore, this study showed that it’s true that shampoos with a lower pH (acidic) tend to cause less frizz because they minimize the buildup of negative static electricity on hair strands.

It isn’t just shampoos, it can be all types of hair products and sprays.

The bottom line is your scalp and hair pH are key to healthy hair.

Hard Water Can Impact Hair Health and pH

Mineral and limescale in water can actually build up in your hair, leaving it dry and crunchy. It can even be flat and dull due to hard water every time you wash your hair.

Add Hair Vinegar To Repair Your Scalp and Hair

As I was searching different things about our scalp and hair pH, I was looking into different formulations of products to address this issue. This is how I found the raspberry hair vinegar rinse!

You don’t have to do anything different or something that takes a long time to make your hair look healthy again.

This rinse stays on for just one minute.

This carefully formulated product gently restores your hairs natural shine, removes build up, and makes your hair look so healthy! It has the texture of water, so it doesn’t weigh down your hair. The product has a pH around 3, making it just the perfect acidity to help your natural pH balance.

The Yves Rocher researchers found that raspberry vinegar has incredible water-softening properties. The science is straight forward , the vinegar neutralizes the limescale found in water that dulls the hair fiber every time you wash it.

It helps it revive the shine of colored and dull hair!

When Do You See Results Using Hair Vinegar?

That is the beauty of this product, results are right away. The first time you use it, then dry your hair, you see the difference. You can add this into your hair routine as often as you like as well.

I started using this a few months ago, and absolutely love it.

My husband is now using it too because he wants his hair to look healthier again! Years of hard water have certainly taken a toll on his hair as well.

Use Formulated Hair Vinegar NOT Cleaning Vinegar

I had several readers ask this on Instagram, but I wanted to remind everyone that formulated hair vinegar is not the same as the white distilled vinegar in your home. These products are too acidic and don’t have the other necessary ingredients to safely work  so please don’t try to use them on your hair.

This hair vinegar is formulated with raspberry vinegar along with botanical extracts that uniquely provide the perfect addition to your scalp and hair with the best results!

Conclusion:

Scalp pH is the key to healthy hair. Add a simple hair vinegar rinse to restore your hair and scalp back to its natural pH!
