Only three days until Christmas…three!?!? I’ve mentioned it before, but as an adult, this time of year flies by way too fast. As a kid, the weeks before Christmas just seemed to drag by. The days before Christmas felt like they weren’t moving at all!
Most years, I am ahead of the game on gifts. I buy most things online and get all my baking done at least a week before. Handmade gifts and food gifts are some of my favorite to give out to friends and neighbors. So, if you are scrambling for some DIY gift ideas to make or just need some ideas, this list will help tremendously! Sweet, thoughtful last minute gifts to make in minutes!
These Peanut Butter Cookie Truffles can be made in minutes and require very little ingredients!
A marble tray is a great idea for anyone. Just go down to Lowe’s or any hardware store, by some tile for a few dollars, some knobs, and a little glue. That’s it! It takes very little time to make!
Do you have a leftover or unused frame? You can even make a tray like this with some paint!
Sugar scrubs are pretty and easy to make for gifts! This Chocolate Coffee Sugar scrub is a huge hit with my friends. Just go to the store, grab a few ingredients, and that is all you need!
Another homemade food gift is a basket or bucket full of cookies. This recipe for cranberry raisin oatmeal cookies is easy and you can dress it up with some icing too!
Another cute idea for these oatmeal cookies is to add the ingredients to a jar in layers with instructions on how to bake. Just eliminate the butter, eggs and extracts. Add that to instructions as additional ingredients. I gave a bunch of those out as gifts too! Here is some inspiration for this on Betty Crocker’s website!
If you want to make chocolate chip cookies, follow these easy tips to make them to perfection.
Another fun idea is to add some roasted nuts to a pretty jar with ribbon. Nuts always make such a beautiful gift! You can purchase some or make your own. I love this recipe!
I think one of the sweetest gifts is Christmas cookies that are decorated with your own touch. I had some tips in my December newsletter for the PERFECT sugar cookies, did you get it? If you would like to sign up, let me know π We’ve been hitting those sugar cookies up in the kitchen this season. I have added those to gifts as well!
I hope you can find some last minute Christmas gifts to make! Have a wonderful and Merry little Christmas!

Happy Pre-Merry Christmas Alexis! It’s almost Christmas! Most of the presents are wrapped. Still working on a few jewelry pieces/ideas – these will be “holiday gifts” instead of “Christmas gifts” (LOL). Christmas lunch will be Chinese food (my family is Chinese). Then present opening. Got a fun plan with the gifts – no tags, color coded…
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Alexis says
That sounds like a wonderful and fun holiday! And that is a great idea to color code π Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas Laurie!
