When Brittney from Lola and Lane posted about her project idea for the new year, I was so excited about it!
It is something that I do everyday anyways since I love documenting each moment of life, good or bad. Turning that into a project sounded like a great idea to start of the new year!
Before I dive in to all the pictures from this week, let me introduce it a little bit!
This is the first link up of the Life366 Project! What is it you ask? The Life366 Project has been created to document the daily day-to-day happenings that occur in life. Essentially, it’s a picture journal to document each day of 2016. There are 366 days this year (hello leap year!), which would mean that there would be 366 pictures by December 31, 2016.
Here’s how it works. Each day, a picture is taken. It can be anything. There can be exciting activities planned and pictures taken, or it could be just a snap of doing the dishes. The idea behind the Life366 Project isn’t necessarily to document only the good and exciting things, but also the normal and not so significant day-to-day activities.
So with that said, there will be a weekly linkup to show all the pictures that were taken during that week. The first linkup will on Thursday, January 8, 2016 and will continue to be held each Thursday thereafter. The first linkup will incorporate the week of January 1-7 and again, will follow the same pattern thereafter.
Now, just because you may have missed a day or simply forgot, don’t feel as though you can’t linkup! We are all human and we have other priorities that take precedence over taking a daily photo. The idea behind this project is to document our daily lives and not to feel burdened or obligated to throw something together.
January 1: Super chilly first day of the year. We spent the day with my family in Fort Worth to help stock up hay for my 86 year old grandmothers cattle. Yes, she still has land, cows, etc. It was nice getting to spend time with my parents, brother, and husband on the 1st day of the year. I snapped this picture with my phone!
January 2: Another chilly day, we finished off the rest of these champagne cupcakes from New Year’s! (recipe coming out in newsletter soon, you can sign up below!). I also did some of these as donuts as shown on instagram last week!
January 3: We spent the day watching football and staying cozy by the fire. We don’t get many cozy days in Texas, so it was fun!
January 4: My little guy hurt his paw over the holiday so I had to make a last minute appointment at the vet and we spent hours there getting him looked at!
January 5: Since the baby was feeling under the weather, I made him so homemade dog treats. He LOVES the things. I haven’t edited the pictures yet, but here is a little sneak peak. Recipe coming soon!
January 6: I stepped outside to take this picture of the sunrise, it was so beautiful! I love the view from my front porch overlooking the pond, so peaceful!
January 7: This morning I’m really needing some coffee to get going…made some cinnamon almond milk french press coffee (recipe coming SOON 😉 )
So that is my first week of 2016 in picture form! I love documenting each day through pictures and I can’t wait to come back at the end of the year to see them all 🙂 I hope you will join us for the link up!
Make sure you come back for the very first linkup on Thursday, January 8! If you post to Instagram, you can use the #Life366Project so that we can see everyone’s posts and follow along!

I’ve always wanted to live on a farm! There’s something about it that just makes it so appealing…maybe it’s the hard work that is put into them and that you shouldn’t take anything for granted that makes it appealing! I hope your little pup feels better, especially with the homemade treats, I need to get the recipe since we will be taking on my boyfriend’s brother’s dog while him and his wife move to Germany for his job in the Army. Thanks so much for linking up =) I really appreciate you taking the time to do so!
