I’m Alexis!

Hi there! I’m Alexis, and I’m obsessed with helping people live healthier, happier lives through the magic of chemistry. But wait, before you click away thinking this is just another boring science site, let me tell you a bit more about myself…

Who is Alexis?

I’m a chemist, a writer, and a fierce fighter against rheumatoid arthritis. This space, Chemistry Cachet, was born out of my own struggles and a desire to share my love of science with the world. Here’s the thing: housekeeping and living healthier shouldn’t be a mystery. I believe that with the right knowledge (and a sprinkle of creativity!), anyone can keep a better home, have healthier skin, and save so much time doing things that work.

Now that I am a mom to sweet Amelia, and my sweet boy Tucker, I am even more thankful for this space.

The Team

Amelia and Tucker are a huge part of Chemistry Cachet! They inspire many of our posts! I love getting to share their sweet faces on here and instagram too.

My husband, a former Marine and currently a first responder, is my second in command on Chemistry Cachet. He helps with many projects and has amazing ideas! He too suffers from severe health problems. In our third year of marriage, after many years of being ill with Ulcerative Colitis, he lost his entire colon. One of my goals over the last few years is creating all his favorite desserts to fit his dietary needs. He has a major sweet tooth and he misses out on so many favorites.

My mom and dad are some of my biggest fans! They give me ideas, help me do everything, and I am pretty sure they tell everyone they know about Chemistry Cachet. They inspired me through college to finish my degree and have always supported me.

I have several life long friends who are also some of my biggest inspiration for ideas and tips. They come to me for skincare advice, I test things out on them, and they let me share their journey with readers. Like when my best friend Megan was suffering from the worst acne, she let me share photos and all my tips with you.

Without this team of people, I wouldn’t be celebrating 10 years of this blog in 2025!
