We are sharing all of our must haves for 9 month olds today!

Amelia has been having so much fun playing these days. She crawls EVERYWHERE and pulls up on EVERYTHING, so we have some must haves to keep her busy and entertained.

It is amazing how fast she started doing everything. Right before Christmas, she was sitting up and then rolling onto her tummy. One day, she started to crawl, then everything happened so fast. Crawling, then standing up on everything she can. I know she will be walking soon enough too.

She is growing up so fast!

Must Haves for 9 Month Olds

TOYS

Push Walker Activity Center

Santa brought this for Amelia, she loves it! There is all new research out there about baby walkers not being the best to prepare them for walking, so I did some research on what type of toy would be best. This one helps me stand up, then have a steady item to push while they learn to walk. Plus it sings songs and makes all types of fun sounds. Amelia loves the phone the most! She plays with this everyday, so we just keep it in the living room.

Glow Unicorn

Amelia LOVES this little unicorn. The first time we turned it on, she squealed and laughed so hard. It moves across the floor really well especially with wood, tile, or flat carpeted floors. All you have to do is touch the unicorn‘s horn, then lights right up. She plays with this everyday too and always laughs when it’s on!

Activity Cube

Another toy Amelia got for Christmas was this activity cube from her great grandma. This is really neat because it has all different sides with different activities. She will stay really occupied with this toy. One portion has blocks you can add in the matching holes. She is fascinated by it, and will try putting the blocks inside. She is learning!

Pack n Play

I just recently got this out even though I got it for my shower. When the babies get mobile, you need a safe pace to keep them! Amelia doesn’t like to be confined lol, but it works. You can add toys in it too. If you are traveling, it is a great place for babies to sleep as well. It is very easy to fold up and take anywhere. We use the Graco brand pack n play.

Books

Amelia is really starting to enjoy books more. She has some favorites, but she really enjoys colors more than anything. We got her this book a few months ago and she loves it! She always laughs while we read it. She thinks the little monster is neat.

She loves the textures and flips in this little book.

I am excited to get into more books with her now that she is older, but those are her favorites right now.

Baby Care

Huggies Snug and Dry

I tried many different diapers over the last few months, but I really like these the best. She can wear one all night long and usually doesn’t leak through (sometimes she does lol). They are good for day time use too. She has been using these since she was about 4 months old.

Huggies Natural Wipes

These are our favorites wipes. I get asked about diapers and baby wipes on social media often, so I wanted to share these. Amelia doesn’t do well with some other the other wipes, so we have been using these for months. They are the best!

There aren’t many things I think are MUST haves for 9 month olds, but this list is definitely my favorite things for Amelia. She has enjoyed these items so much.

I plan on doing a big post after she turns a year old on babies for year must haves. Let me know if you would like to see more of these things too!

Oh goodness Amelia’s almost 10 months! How the first year is flying by! Soon she’ll be walking and you will be running… sounds like she loves colors and animation and learning… I know you’ve been reading to her since she was in utero. I like to use the Huggies Natural Wipes, too, for my pets, especially muddy Daisy. Those paws!

I love your stories about Amelia. You are being one terrrrific mother. Comment about the phone. All little ones love phones but watch the screen time. Research has shown that the rapid movements from the phone screen and TELEVISION/COMPUTER screens should NOT be viewed until babies are at least 2 years of age. It affects their brain development So …how do you solve this problem. Buy her a ‘phone just like mommy except it has cartoons, creatures etc. on it. Just no movement . Our son did this for my grandson. He brought the information about the phone, computer, and especially the TV screens to my attention. Our grandson just turned 6 … so the research is out there!! Grandmothers can share useful information …LOL

Thanks Marilyn!! Yes I agree. Amelia doesn’t watch tv or have any screen time. The only time she can even look at a phone is when we FaceTime family or a little IG story 🙂 I used to work with kids in the schools, and their behavior was terrible when they could use the IPad in class, so even at 5 or 6 it’s not a good idea! My friends make fun of me because we don’t even let Amelia watch tv lol but I think it’s best 🙂
