Small town Christmas in Texas is the best! on chemistrycachet.com

There is something magical about a small town Christmas in Texas. The town I live in is very historical and loves to preserve their history any chance possible. The square is very similar to how it was in the 1880s, the buildings, courthouse, and ambiance are very nostalgic of the Victorian Era.

I am from a small Texas town too, but we never had the type of history my town now has. I feel very blessed to get to enjoy it! Plus, our town is OBSESSED with Christmas Spirit. Which is perfect, because I am too 🙂

Last weekend I went to the 33rd annual Christmas home tour. It was my third year to go, and I just love this tradition. The difference in our town is all the homes are historical, some built has early as 1870s!

I wish I would have brought my professional camera, but I didn’t want to lug it around. This house above was my favorite on the tour. I always pass by it and admire how beautiful the architecture is. It is just as pretty on the inside too!

My husband usually goes with me, but he had to work, so I brought one of my best friends. She is a total architecture nerd like me, so she loved it! I love how all these homes have been preserved since the 1800s. It is so neat!

After the tour we walked to the park. The ENTIRE park is covered in Christmas lights. You probably saw all my videos on snapchat, but it was amazing! I feel like a little kid every year when they light it all up!

Happy Friday! Your photos are beautiful – love them all! I LOVE fireplaces! Like you said, feels a bit like a Hallmark Channel kind of town. There is something special about small towns. Some days I wish I lived in a smaller city. Have a wonderful weekend… a little more than 2 weeks before Christmas! Ours will be a bit more special this year (Matt).

What a fun place to live! My parents like going to your town for weekend trips! 🙂 I did think it was Hillsboro for a second because the courthouses look similar.

It does look just like Hillsboro, I never realized that! It is such a fun little town to visit, we get so many tourists especially this time of year, but it still has that small town feel!
