11 Books For A Perfect Spring Reading List

Spring represents a renewal in many ways. The trees start budding, flowers began to grow, baby animals are born, and even the sun starts shining a little brighter.

I love all of this because it inspires me in many ways to be more productive around the house and in my work too. Although winter is notoriously the time of year to curl up with a good book and read all day, spring is also a time I love cracking open a new book and reading outside for a change!

Reading in season is one of my things, like with my summer poolside reads, fall cozy book list and winter reading list, I love books that embrace the season!

So, here is the perfect Spring reading list for a beautiful, sunshine filled day!

A Perfect Spring Reading List on chemistrycachet.com

One. And Ladies of the Club by Helen Hoover Santmyer

This was the book that helped me discover my love of reading again, but it is the perfect book to read in the spring due to all of the beautiful nature scenes and descriptions. It is set in all seasons, but something about the spring and summer chapters are really perfect!

Two. Herbs and Apples by Helen Hoover Santmeyer

Another one by her that is set back in the day. It is a pretty easy read and I just loved the scene it was set in.

Three. The Red House Mystery by A. A. Milne

An old-fashioned mystery that is just fun to read! I am a little bit of a British mystery literature nerd, and I enjoy all the ones from this era of the early 1900s. Fun fact, but this is the same author who wrote all the Winnie-the-Pooh stories!

Four. The Tale of Hill Top Farm by Susan Wittig Albert

I have talked about this author before in my fall reading list for her Texas mysteries. This is an English cozy mystery set in the early 1900s. It is really easy and fun to read!

Five. In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin by Erik Larson

Erik Larson is definitely one of my favorite modern writers. I don’t read historical fiction often, but I love all of his stories. I mentioned  Devil in the White City in my winter list and it is really good too! I love this one about Nazi Germany before World War II. It is such an interesting point of view that I didn’t know about from an American ambassador sent to Germany in 1933. I loved it!

Six. Garden Spells (Bantam Discovery) by Sarah Addison Allen

The imagery in this book is just dreamy! Gardens, trees, makes for the perfecting spring book!

Seven. One of Those Malibu Nights by Elizabeth Adler

This is a a fun modern mystery. I loved the beach setting! It has a good twist in it too.

Eight. Back Home Again (Tales from Grace Chapel Inn Book 1) by Melody Carlson

This are really sweet Christian books. They are set in a little town called Acorn Hill and three sisters who own a Victorian home that turned into a bed and breakfast. They are sweet and easy to read!

Nine. The Fixer Upper: A Novel by Mary Kay Andrews

I like some of her books, but not all of them I would recommend. This one was pretty fun and I liked the DIY, old home aspect as the setting!

Ten. G is for Gumshoe (The Kinsey Millhone Alphabet Mysteries) by Sue Grafton

I have talked about these books too. They are fun murder mysteries  and very easy to read. This is the latest one I have read and I really liked it!

Eleven. Death by Darjeeling (A Tea Shop Mystery) by Laura Childs

This is the first book in the series that I just finished up, and I really loved it! It’s set in a tea shop which is what intrigued me to read it. It had a good murder mystery with it too. It is really a great book to read outside when the weather is nice 🙂

It’s a fun read for sure! I can’t believe he is the same author of Winnie the Pooh, but you would never know with his writing in this!

I think the Fixer Upper book sounds pretty cool. Like you, I am not a fan of all of her books, but it seems like we like to read the same kind of books so if I see this one I’ll have to pick it up!

These are great recommendations! I think In the Garden of Beasts is my favorite Erik Larson book because I really like reading about WWII. Its so amazing to me how he makes his nonfiction books read like fiction!
