The Best Grip Socks For Pilates and Yoga
I talk about Pilates often on Chemistry Cachet and IG because it has been such a passion of mine over the years. It has made a difference in my health and joint pain, so I love to share tips with you that have helped me.
Whenever I talk about Pilates, readers ask about my socks. Do I always wear socks when I work out? Why am I wearing socks? Or they ask do I have a grip sock I actually like? I guess it is a subject to share with you!
I started using grip socks about six year ago for reformer Pilates classes.
The first pair I bought were Tucketts, and I still have them! They are great quality and the grip has held up well over the last six years.
Many workout studios require you to wear grip socks for cleanliness, but I like to wear them even at home.
Here are some other reasons to wear grip socks:
First, it can help your balance. Whether you are on the mat, floor, or a reformer, good grip socks can help you keep balance. The one time I forgot my grip socks for a pilates class, I lost my balance a few times. Which usually doesn’t happen!
Second, it can increase your performance. By enhancing your stability and balance and preventing sweaty feet, you can have a better workout overall. This can really increase your performance during your workout session.
And of course, it keeps your feet from sliding, so it can be safer to wear grip socks too.
Not all grip socks are good though. I have purchased some on Amazon that didn’t have good enough grips, so I slid all over the place. Some of the knock off brands are also larger and not tight enough around your toes causing you to slide also.
This is why I always stick with Tucketts.
These continue to be my favorite grip sock brand, and I think everyone can agree they have the best quality. If you are looking for a grip sock brand to try, I think you will be very happy with these!
Whether you do mat workouts or reformer workouts, looking. into some grip socks can be very beneficial for you.
