We get questions often about where is the best place to workout in Granbury, Stephenville, Weatherford, or even the Fort Worth, Texas area??
While this post is mainly for my local readers and friends, this is a good post for anyone to read who might want some motivation as we start 2020!
I have friends asking me all the time what gym I like to go to.
This past year, I have been enjoying The Fit Lounge.
The Fit Lounge just celebrated their one year anniversary, and everyone in our area has been loving it! Pilates has made such an impact on my physical health, I really wanted to share more about it with you today.
The Best Place to Workout In Granbury, Stephenville, Weatherford
Something that is always difficult for people is knowing how to workout.
One of my good friends joined a gym a few months ago, and she told me it wasn’t going well because she really didn’t know what to do! Aside from walking on the treadmill or riding the bike, she isn’t sure where to start on the weights or machines.
This is a common issue, and one of the reasons I have really enjoyed doing group classes in a studio.
If you feel the same way, finding a place with different classes is a great place to start or continue exercising. I have shared many behind the scenes on instagram, but wanted to do a post for you today too.
The Fit Lounge has been such a success in the Granbury area because it offers a variety of classes and times to accommodate different schedules.
Class Options Include:
- Pilates
- Barre
- Yoga
- Stretching
- Combination Classes
Why Try Pilates?
Before The Fit Lounge opened, I used to do mat pilates at home. I really enjoyed it, but it was difficult to do when my joints were hurting from arthritis.
I started using the reformer machines last year, and it has been such a fantastic exercise for bad joints! Even when my RA is acting up, I can always do a reformer workout! The instructors at The Fit Lounge also accommodate any problem areas you might have with alternative moves. Sometimes I can’t bend my elbow a certain way, so they show me some different moves to try.
It is very helpful!
You can read more in-depth information about how Pilates is beneficial for all types of health issues in this post.
Why Try Barre Classes?
I love that our studio also offers Barre classes. Barre is another gentle workout on the joints because it is low impact. I can also do a Barre class even when my joints are in bad shape. This workout is a little bit more cardio, but also great strength training.
I try to do a combination of Pilates and Barre classes each week for the best type of workout!
The Fit Lounge has all types of Barre classes! I love the ones that combine barre and yoga together called Fusion.
Be sure to read this post all about how Barre can benefit your health.
Different Types of Yoga Classes at The Fit Lounge
Yoga can be more difficult for me with joint issues, but I really enjoy doing it occasionally. The Fit Lounge has a power yoga class which is more intense, but also a more gentle yoga called Fit Zen. I love doing this for a deeper stretch and relaxing class.
The Fit Lounge also offers a few stretching/trigger point classes called Fit Bliss along with a new one starting soon called FIT Flex. They use a TRX machine to incorporate in classes which is a really great tool to use. TRX machines are used in physical therapy too.
Check out the schedule here.
If you live anywhere in the Granbury, Stephenville, or Weatherford area, you definitely need to try it out! It is unlike any other studio in our area.
What if You Don’t Live Local?
We have readers all over the country, so you might not live locally. You can follow The Fit Lounge on Facebook for updates and new fun things. You can also try to check out a local studio in your area to see what they offer.
Pilates has been the best workout for bad joints, and I love sharing this with others!
